A Casa da Eira is set in Alberguería, a small mountain village of 50 inhabitants situated at the higher part of the river Sil Canyon in the midst of the historic area of 'The Ribeira Sacra' – the holy riverside - known for its Romanesque art. The river Sil canyon is a special area of conservation within the European ecological network known as 'Natura 2000'. Let yourself be seduced by the hundred-year-old chestnut woods, the large variety of animal and plant species, the vineyards on the riverbanks and the granite rock formations. Activities include culture, town/landscape trips, hill walking, canoeing, climbing, swimming in the nearby dam, mountain biking, horse riding and waterway excursions through the river Sil Canyon. The house, set well back from the main road and free from traffic noise, is comfortable, amongst it's many special charms are the wooden balcony with view on the river Sil Canyon, the generous common space with open fire place and the garden facing south.

Notes on prices
Prices are quoted per room per night in Euros VAT included.
Meals are not included. Breakfast is 5,50 euros/low season and 6,00€ high season per person and dinner – three courses + wine - 21,40 euros per person (only advanced booking)- only in the B&B.
For an additional folding bed in the double room or self catering apartment there is an extra charge. There is no extra charge for a cot in either accommodation (up to two years).

Accessibility
One of the rooms in the B&B is accessible (room Riá on the ground floor). Please note that not all the guesthouse is accessible.
Outside
B&B: 600 square metre garden facing south with various tables, benches, parasol etc and other outdoor furniture. 11m long traditional wooden balcony facing north with various tables and chairs and view on the river Sil canyon.
Apartment: Traditional wooden balcony with view of the river Sil canyon and patio with dinette close to the kitchen. Access to the garden through the B&B.
Golf
There are multiple golf courses in Galicia. The nearest one is the 9-hole golf course Montealegre Club de Golf (20 km). The following services are available: practice range, putting green, clubhouse, equipment rental, swimming pool, bar, restaurant, golf cart rental, buggy rental, pitch and putt.
Travel
Vigo airport at 130 km. Santiago de Compostela at 130 km. Private car or car-hire is recommended.
Distances
River dam at 15 minutes driving distance. Open air public swimming pool at 15 minutes driving distance (only summer months). Mountains and hill walking paths in the near surroundings.
Ribeira Sacra monuments: (from 10mn to 45mn), beaches of the Rías Baixas (130km), Santiago de Compostela (130km), Portugal (60km), Ourense, capital town, to have tapas in the old town and relax in the thermae 'A Chavasqueira' (35mn).

Shopping and other sevices: all services can be found at Luintra (11km): petrol station, post office, restaurants, pharmacy, medicine, supermarket, shops and free internet access at the library (also wi-fi with private laptop) or at Ourense (100000 inhabitants) (29 km).
Galicia, land of the 1000 rivers and the 1000 events: exhibitions, concerts, folk festivals, open-air, theatre, markets, etc. All over Galicia there is loads to do and see and mostly at very interesting entrance fees if not completely for free. In summer (June - September) appears a special guide '122 summer days and nights' with hundreds of events. But also the rest of the year there is an interesting offer. Please ask us, we shall be pleased to submit you our suggestions.
Booking notes
When a reservation is placed customers are required to pay a deposit of 40%. The customer may decide not to stay at A Casa da Eira, and will be entitled to a reimbursement of all the amounts paid in advance. Nevertheless, the following rules will apply - If the cancellation is made between 7 and 30 days in advance before the date of arrival, we will deduct 40% of the deposit. If the cancellation is made within the seven days before arrival, there will be no reimbursement.

'We were just wandering around in the area (with our car) when we happened to see a sign for a B&B. After asking some local for the exact location and some very narrow streets we found Casa da Eira. What a discovery it proved to be. A wonderfull old farmhouse that has been completely renovated. It has great common areas and a nice backyard to RELAX. We stayed longer then we intended. Although at that time we were the only ones in A Casa da Eira Susanne and Adolfo fixed us wonderfull dinners and breakfasts from homegrown food. A real treat, beating anything easily we had anywhere else this vacation. They also had a great knowledge and enthusiasm about the local area and gave us some great hints about what to see where. In the afternoon we had a drink in the local tavern. No tourists!! It was easily the highlight of our vacation. We can not wait to come back to the area and this time stay longer.'
