Tijo Rosa is a detached cortijo, dating back to the 19th century, sympathetically renovated in 2004 to retain it's original charm. Set in it's own large garden offering a high degree of privacy with 360 degree views. The cortijo is located on a mountainside in a quiet rural area, yet only a 20 minute drive to the nearest beach and the large town of Motril. Whilst relaxing in your private pool the view is across the valley to the mediterranean in the distance. Due to it's location 3km along an unsurfaced track a 4 wheeldrive is recommended, but not essential and the 220 volt electrics are powered by solar panels making it unsuitable for high-powered appliances, like hairdryers. The friendly English speaking owners live out of sight nearby and are on hand in case of any problems or just advice on the local area.

Coast/Beach
Salobrena and Motril. A variety of beaches and coves can be found all along the Costa del Sol and the Costa Tropical.
Golf
18 hole golf course, clubhouse\bar on the coast (16km) in Motril.
Skiing
Skiing in the Sierra Nevada's is a 2 hour drive.
Travel
Airports : Almeria 1½ hour. Granada 1 hour 25 mins. Malaga 2 hours.
Distances
3.5km to the village of Los Tablones with 2 bars. 11km to Motril with full range of shops, restaurants and services, 18km to Salobrena where you will find beaches, bars, restaurants.
Further details
The historic city of Granada and The Alhambra Palace is 1 hour 25 minutes. Marbella and Ronda are also possible from here. The surrounding area has excellent walks and a large selection of birds for birdwatchers.
