Less than 5 mins drive to charming hillside town of Begur and 5-10 mins drive to the golden sand bay of Sa Riera with waterfront restaurants and shops. Within 10-20 mins by car are other coastal villages such as Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell Tamariu, Aiguablava. Girona is 45mins drive and Barcelona 1.5hrs drive (approx.) Nearby attractions include: tennis, horse riding, Golf, snorkeling, diving, go-karting, water park, sailing, cultural centres, museums, medieval towns, restaurants, shops, cycling, walking, water park, nightlife. A peaceful location with amenities close by.

Notes on accommodation
Villa Rocas is spacious and comfortable with a level garden and is suitable for two families as there are two double bedrooms ensuite and the accommodation is well spaced over three floors.
The pool is easily viewed from the living areas and the garden is enclosed and level. There is air conditioning, central heating and a wood burning stove for winter lets. This is an area with a reputation for very good golf. There is a house manual with local information including golf courses.
We have a local representative in Begur who can provide many services all of which are detailed with our booking form. You may want to arrive to find a large or small grocery shop delivered and this is just one of the services we provide.
Accessibility
There is a short drive to the house with a step up to the front door. At this level is a bedroom, shower room and utility room. There are several steps up to the living area and it is not suitable from this point of view for a wheelchair.
Outside
The garden is enclosed and on one level and offers privacy with a private pool (3.5m x 6.5m) lawn, covered dining terrace and decked sun terrace. Arranged over three floors, approached by private drive with parking for 2 cars. Glass doors from the living room lead to a covered dining terrace and lawned area surrounding the pool, with a sundeck. The kitchen door conveniently leads to the BBQ area. The main bedroom has a large balcony with table and chairs. Wonderful sea and country views from all bedrooms and garden.
Coast/Beach
Sa Riera beach-10 mins drive. Superb beach with restaurants and shops. Within 15 minutes drive are the very pretty coastal towns of Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc with a relaxing 15 min coastal path walk between the two. At Calella de Palafrugell you will find a string of sandy coves and good choice of waterfront restaurants and shops. Llafranc is similar but with a larger crescent shaped sandy beach and a small marina. Again, a very good choice of restaurants and shops.
Golf
There are many golf courses in the region with a championship course at Pals which is approximately 10mins drive. Full details of all golf courses are in the house manual.
Skiing
The nearest ski resort is approximately 2 hours drive.
Travel
Girona is the nearest airport - approximately 50 minutes drive. Barcelona airport - approximately 1.5 hours drive. Driving time from Calais is approximately 12 hours. Car hire is highly recommended.

Further details
This is the unspoilt Costa Brava or Catalunya, free from large Tour Operated holidays and where many of the properties are owned by Barcelonians. Rarely overcrowded and retaining real Spanish charm without a souvenir shop in sight! You will want to return to again and again. Every day there will be a different place of interest to visit, be it a cultural pursuit or another sundrenched sandy cove with clear water to while away the day. All the coastal resorts here have waterfront restuarants, cafes and shops. It is a real pleasure to wander the little streets around the front and enjoy the spectacular scenery that this rugged coastline offers. Development here is mainly villas as the terrain does not allow for large apartment blocks. The coastline remains intact with some wonderful coastal path walks. Within 10-15 minutes are the excellent beaches and coastal villages of Aiguablava, Sa Riera, Calella De Palafrugell, Llafranc and Tamariu.
Begur - This charming hillside town with its cobbled streets offers the visitor an outstanding choice of Catalan restaurants, tapas bars and shops. The main square has entertainment in the high season and there are many late night bars and a couple of discos. The overall atmosphere is very Spanish with local artists' paintings and crafts displayed in the square during the summer. Wednesday is market day. Excellent supermarkets,specialist fishmonger, butchers` shops and freshly baked bread available in many shops. There are many other places of interest including Salvador Dali's castle at Pubol and his amazing museum at Figueres, where you cannot fail to be drawn in by his diverse art. At La Bisbal the streets are littered with ceramic shops and there is also an antique centre. Girona, a wonderful city to visit, known as mini-Barcelona, with its own charming ramblas and interesting shops and pavement restaurants. Barcelona, if you crave city life is 1 hour by train from nearby Flaca. All you need for a fantastic holiday is here!

About the owner
I have been involved with property for as long as I can remember and when we first visited Begur we thought it a wonderful region and decided to buy a holiday home, Casa Alfora.
We rented it out through a local agent the first year (2001). After that I decided to rent it out myself and since then we have built two more houses and purchased another in Begur all of which are on this site. Gradually I built up a business and we now have our own website featuring property in Spain, Italy, Greece and Portugal.
Poros Island, Greece is another favourite destination of ours where we have a house overlooking the harbour and on the mainland, both with amazing views and both of which are featured on this website.
Owners Direct has been a very good vehicle for us to market our holiday homes.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
Villa Rocas is next door to Casa Alfora. When we bought Casa Alfora we noticed that there was an excavated plot next door and over time decided to build Villa Rocas in 2002. This was our first building experience and all went according to plan and was finished on time!
We love the sea views which you get from every room in the villa and the privacy in the garden which is now so mature and really inviting. There are no close neighbours and Villa Rocas has a special atmosphere which I could pick up when it was just a shell of a house.
Sa Riera is just 5-10mins by car and the wonderful town of Begur 5mins.
It is lovely to wake in the morning to the views of the sea and the changes that this brings daily.
Unique benefits of the property
Villa Rocas feels like home from home.
All the rooms are well proportioned and it is on three floors with a good spacious feel whilst being very manageable.
We had aircon installed a couple of years ago as this seems to be a convenience that is more and more popular and understandably so.
Villa Rocas is an individually designed house which we put our heart and soul into as a first build.
