Bathrooms: Both house en-suite bathrooms have bath, shower, hand basin, toilet, bidet, mirrored cabinet and hairdryer. Towels supplied
Cave has toilet and handbasin with shower bathroom close by.

Towels and bed linen provided. Property is cleaned at the end of each letting. Sufficient linen and towels available to change if required during bookings. Laundry facilities as above.

Notes on accommodation
Children and animals should be accompanied by adults at all times in the pool area as we cannot accept responsibility for any unforeseen incidents. For safety reasons only plastic glasses should be used around pool area.

Accessibility
The property has not been specifically adapted for mobility problems (ie widening of doors), but all areas (except the rooftop terrace) are on one level and reasonably accessible from car park to house, courtyard, cave and pool.

Outside
Swimming pool 8x4m private outdoor, Roman end & steps. Poolside shower (neither heated). Large terraced area surrounds the pool with pagola for shaded lunch. Very private. Underwater & poolside lighting. BBQ within an open cave near pool. Pool loungers and chairs available. Car port in parking area. Sun terrace with marble table situated above main level, access via rustic stairs. Patio accessible through French doors in one of the house bedrooms. Mountain shrubs line the private road connecting bottom level of drive to accommodation level. Sun umbrellas are available, but not advisable for use when windy. The property is high up the mountain, most private with no immediate neighbours. As there is no street lighting, it is suggested that one of the courtyard lights is left on when going out for the evening, this makes finding the right key a lot easier on your return. It is also suggested the property is locked (house, courtyard & gates) at night when leaving the property unattended.

Coast/Beach
Several Beaches/Coast approx 50 mins drive to Mar Menor. Boat trips starting from Santiago de la Ribiera to the far side of the Mar Menor.

Golf
Golf courses in the area. See house book on coffee table in lounge. These include Polaris World Championship courses (on the road to Murcia Airport) and more local courses.

Skiing
A pleasant drive to Sierra Nevada 3½ hours. A resort renowned for late season skiing.

Travel
Car hire is imperative as the villa lies at the head of a valley in the mountains with 10 min drive to town. Alicante airport approx 50 mins drive SW to property. Murcia airport approx 50 min drive NW to property. (Murcia closes at night, so in the event of any delay/transfer, car arrangements could be jeopardised). Calais approx 1200 miles (two day drive approx). New bypass skirts the nearby town of Fortuna, making the drive up to the villa much easier with lovely mountain views on the way.

Distances
Local town of Fortuna 7.5km (10 min drive approx). Murcia City 33km (30min drive appx). Spa Baths Fortuna 7km. Spa Baths, Monte Aguado (amazing statue on top of a mountain) 15km approx. New Condominium (shopping centre) on the way to Murcia (A7) 15km approx. See coffee table in house lounge for other places worth visiting. Jumilla - wine grown area (1hr drive approx).

Further details
There is a weekly market on Saturdays in the centre of Fortuna. Banks open 8am - 2pm Mon - Fri. ATM's available. Pharmacy: one is situated close to church in the centre of Fortuna. Supermarkets: several around town. Directions given to Supermarket next to the church (see House book). Internet cafe in Fortuna with economical telephone/email facilities. Mobile phone problems: Expert (electrical) shop in the high street of Fortuna on RHS. Many little shops in Fortuna. Until you walk round, you will not see them. Tourist Board near main traffic lights in Fortuna (by the church). Free tennis on courts in Fortuna. Fortuna Banos (therapeutic baths) on the outskirts of Fortuna - well signposted and well worth a visit (Euros 10 per person per day). It has a cafe whee you can obtain light lunches and drinks.

Booking notes
Non returnable £100 deposit per week to be paid to secure date of vacation. Balance to be paid four weeks prior to holiday. Once final payment received, keys, directions and further useful information will be sent by post. Cheques to be made payable to J. Bennett. Bank transfers accepted.

We had an amazing holiday, it was just what we needed, very relaxed stay. The villa was amazing, we couldn't have wished for anything better, we loved swimming and relaxing by the pool looking out over the mountains. About the owner
We had no thought of buying a property in Spain, but friends had bought closeby. It was just a piece of land on three levels with a derelict cave with five rooms. BUT it was the view that sold it to us. After having made an offer which was accepted, I came away thinking "What the heck had we let ourselves in for" as we know little of spanish language/legals. We've spent five years bringing the cave into this century -two twin bedrooms and one single, lounge, dining room and toilet We then built a 2 bed en-suite house connecting to the cave, a Spanish courtyard, swimming pool, car park and car port and lastly a road from the bottom level up to the cave/house level. All this on borrowed money. Now we let it to help pay the interest and to share its peace and tranquility with others.

Unique benefits of the property
The villa is secluded but not remote - just a ten minute drive down the mountain. There is no telephone to interrupt the tranquility. We have time to read, relax in the sun (and shade) and dip in the pool to cool off. We like to stand at night and look at the stars which, because there is no street lighting, feel as if they are just hanging above you. The lights of Los Molinos twinkle in the distance too. During the day the swallows swoop down to the pool for a quick drink. At night they give us a chorus which is magic.
