'Casa Bella Vista' is situated just below the unspoilt village of Cáñar in the Alpujarras. Perfect for those who enjoy taking some exercise when on holiday, as Cáñar has some idyllic walks where you can get out into the campo and enjoy the flora and fauna of the area. This is the place to come if you want to relax, relax, relax; time here has a way of standing still and becoming meaningless. The décor has a Mediterranean flavour which is combined with the necessities of life like Sky TV and a washing machine. The terrace boasts a small but beautiful pool from which you can cool off with a chilled glass of wine or beer whilst gazing down over the valley with its mountain backdrop and your other half works on the barbecue nearby! What more could you want?

Notes on accommodation
This warm and welcoming house will be perfect for all age groups although we would advise that parents of young children will have to keep a close eye out as the downside of the fabulous views is that the house, which is high up on the mountainside, has some very steep drops from the terrace and gardens. The house is centrally heated and is run from an ecologically friendly stove that gives the lounge that true mountain retreat feel when lit in the winter and in the summer, it keeps cool from the mountain breezes coming through the French doors. If you wish to access the internet you will need to bring a laptop with a LAN connection,

Outside
The long shingle driveway is edged with colourful flower beds and affords ample car parking. Going through the garden arch then leads to a stunning terrace overlooking the many white villages nestled in the mountains. Here you can soak up the sun which is high in the sky until late into the evening in the summer, or relax in the shade of the traditionally built Alpujarren porch with the comfortable rattan settes. Here you can also wine and dine al fresco and the barbecue is close at hand. The pool is a perfect place to relax with a drink on the side. There are several sunbeds for the sun worshippers and plenty of shade for those who aren't.
Coast/Beach
40 mins drive to the coast and the resort of Salobrena, offering fine beaches and beach restaurants.
Skiing
The main ski resort of the Sierra Nevada, Pradollano-Solynieve, is approximately 1 1/4 hours drive away.
Travel
Malaga airport, 2 hours away.
Granada airport, 1 1/4 hours.
Almeria airport, is 2 1/4 hours away.
Distances
Orgiva, 7km, 10 minutes by car.
Granada city, 70km, 1 hour.
Salobrena, 60km, 40 minutes.
Further details
Cáñar is a beautiful village which has retained its rustic charm and tranquillity. It sits at 1014 metres overlooking some of the most fantastic views in the Alpujarras. The bustling town of Orgiva is a 800m below and on a clear day you can see over the Mediterranean all the way to the Er Rif and the Atlas mountains in Morocco. The village has been untainted by the by the hustle and bussle of tourism and is a great place to unwind and relax. Canar has 3 bars serving tapas and traditional Alpujarran meals and a shop and a pharmacy.
Booking notes
We take a 20% deposit when booking which is non-refundable, balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival. We recommend taking out holiday insurance which covers cancellation. A security deposit is requested on arrival to cover any potential damages/breakages.
