Villajoyosa, which means joyful or happy town, is one of the few genuine Spanish towns along the coastline of the Costa Blanca. Located between the historic city of Alicante and the lively town of Benidorm, it has retained its original character and charm. Across from the beach there is a choice of international restaurants and bars. Villajoyosa is designated as a Spanish cultural heritage town. The multi-coloured houses of the characterful “Casco Antiguo” (Old Town) have been recognised as an architectural treasure. The Old Town area has been protected as a Spanish monument and portrays real Spain. In Villajoyosa you will find all types of shops and restaurants, a market (every Thursday) and all amenities and travel services.

Cleaning/towels: Towels for kitchen and bathroom and bed linens are included. You must bring your own beach towels.

Accessibility
Property is unsuitable for wheelchair users. The Old Town is situated on a hill and may be unsuitable for people with walking difficulties.

Coast/Beach
The main beach is 3-5 minutes walk. The town boasts a beautiful beach (Blue Flag) of golden sand and clear water.
The town offers a promenade for those who enjoy walking. At its end is the marina and fishing harbour around which you can walk. Situated near the harbour is the entrance to Varadero beach (a stony beach) but with further attractive walkways.

Golf
The Costa Blanca is without doubt a golf players paradise. There are over fifteen 18 hole golf courses in the Costa Blanca, all within a 2 hour drive of Alicante. Some have been designed by Seve Ballesteros, some regularly play host to Spanish national championships, some are even ranked regularly amongst the top courses in the world.
There are a variety of styles and terrains to choose, from stunning coastline to rugged mountains - and levels of difficulty to cater for all standards. Tuition and golf academies will help you fine-tune your swing, whilst plenty of driving ranges and practice greens will build up your confidence before you even set foot on the course.

Travel
Alicante Airport is about 40 minutes drive. A car is not essential as there is a bus and train service from the town.
However if you plan to explore further afield into the mountains for example a car is recommended.

Distances
Benidorm is approximately 10km and can be reached both by bus and train. Alicante approximately an hour by train. Valencia can be reached from Benidorm by express bus and it is possible to return within the same day.
Mountain villages such as Finestrat, Orcheta, Sella, Relleu and Guadalest are accessible by car.

Further details
Our local outdoor market takes place on Thursdays. Valor chocolate factory and museum. Valor's own cafe on the main street is recommended for those with a sweet tooth, try churros and hot chocolate!
Theme parks in the Benidorm area include Terramitica, Aqulandia, Mundomar, Terra Natura and Zoo.

A 40% deposit is required to confirm your booking on the internet via Paypal. The balance of the rental plus a £100 security bond to be paid 4 weeks before start of holiday. Minimum stay 7 nights. During off-peak times it may be possible to accommodate fewer nights stay or a different changeover day – please ask. Discount rates for longer rentals – please ask. Check-Out time 11.00am Check-in time 2.00pm except by arrangement.
