Our villa offers you the unique opportunity of being in "real" Spain while having easy access to the tennis and golf facilities of the La Manga resort and many other golf courses close by. Located in a nature reserve with views over the Mediterrean and the golf courses, the villa it is just 5 minutes drive to the resort and 5 minutes walk to the Spanish village of Los Belones with its typical restaurants and tapas bars. A horse riding stables is just up the road offering lessons and excursions over the hills to the beach. Over 50 kilometres of beaches are within 10 minutes drive and many places offer water sports on the Mar Menor including kite surfing, sailing, fishing, jet skiing and water skiing. The hills around the villa are good for walking and mountain biking. Murcia airport is within 25 mintues drive and has flights from several UK airports, Alicante airport is just over an hours drive. The villa is enclosed in its own grounds with pool, jacuzzi and bar b q area.

Changeover day
During high season - Easter and Summer holidays, half terms and Christmas, the changeover day is Saturday. At other times during the year, it is flexible and we offer long week end dates.

There is also a covered bar b q area at the far side of the pool with stone table for 10.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
A set of white sheets and towels is provided and changed weekly. Weekly cleaning is included and extra cleaning can be arranged with our manager.

 

Notes on accommodation
The layout is ideal for two families sharing. The top floor has an ajoining study (with internet access) and its own terrace with views over the golf courses and Med. The self contained basement flat is fully equipeed and has its own access and direct access to the main house. This arrangement provides privacy for a second family, grandparents or nannies. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the middle floor that have fitted cupboards and comfortable beds (double or twin).

Accessibility
The basement flat can be easily converted for wheel chair access and access to the main house and pool. Parking is within the property.

Outside
The villa is set within its own garden in a nature reserve surrounded by hills. There are views over the La Manga resort and golf courses and the Med. The villa was built by a Spanish family about 10 years ago and is very well spacious and cool. It is not one of these purposely built villas for the British market! The garden is totally enclosed by mature flowering hedges are laid to grass. The private pool is about 10 metres by 7 metres, gentle steps at one end make it easy to get in and out. There are a number of sun loungers around the pool and a large barbq area at the end with stone table for 10. At the back of the villa is a private area where the heated jacuzzi is located - perfect for a soak after a hard game of golf or tennis. Electric gates keep the villa private and secure and there is parking for at least 3 cars. The covered terrace ajoining the house leads onto the pool area so you can relax either under cover or outside and be close to the pool.

Coast/Beach
We are surrounded by beaches. On the Mediterrean side along the La Manga strip, there are 13 continuous kilometres of white sands, clear blue sea and gentle waves. On the Mar Menor side the water is shallow and warm, ideal for small children and a very large selection of water sports. Over the hills at the back of the villa and part of the nature reserve are a number of completely unspoiled and deserted coves with rocks, sand and waves.

Golf
The La Manga resort is about 5 minutes drive from the villa with its 3 championship golf courses and 33 tennis courts. There are also about 15 other public golf courses withing 20 minutes drive from the villa. The La Manga resort also offers excellent golf and tennis academies, private lessons, a golf range, par 3 course and daily tennis tournaments and activities. About 500 yards up the road from the villa is a riding stables which offers lessons as well as excursions over the hills to the beaches beyond. The horses pass the villa every morning. The hills are also good for walking and mountain biking. There is a totally private beach in a cove about 20 minutes walk from the villa over the hills. There are also about 30 kilometes of beaches within 10 minutes drive with many places on the Mar Menor offering water sports such as sailing, jet skiing, fishing, water skiing, kite surfing. At Cabo de Palos, 10 minutes drive, there are many sub aqua schools.

Travel
Murcia airport is about 25 minutes drive, Alicante is just over one hour's drive. Car hire is recommended although you can arrange for taxis from the airport and the village of Los Belones is about 5 - 10 minutes walk from the villa.

Distances
The nearest village is Los Belones with its resturants, tapas bars and local market. The historic sea port of Cartegena is about 20 minutes drive and the cathedral city of Murcia is about 40 minutes drive from the villa. The fishing port of Cabo de Palos with its extensive Sunday market (especially if you like shoes and leather goods) and its wonderful sea food restaurants situated along the harbour wall is about 10 minutes drive.

Further details
We feel the villa offers the perfect balance between being in 'real' Spain with its traditional restaurants, bars and markets while still having easy access to facilities of the La Manga resort which is very popular wiht British people wanting to play tennis and golf. The villa offers the perfect balance between relaxing by the pool or participating in a number of activities such as riding, walking, mountain-biking going the beach or doing some form of water sport. There are also a number of typical Spanish resturants and tapas bars in the village offering good and inexpensive food. You can even walk there from the village so that you can enjoy lots of Spanish rioja and not worry about driving. The village also has an excellent butcher, fish shop, 2 bodegas (wine merchants) bakers, ice cream shop and small supermarket. Larger supermarkets such as Carrefour and Mercadona are close by.

Booking notes
After we have confirmed availability of the dates you have requested, we will send you a copy of our terms and conditions, booking form and details of our bank in Spain. We require 50% deposit with the return of the T & C form and the balance to be paid at least 6 weeks before occupancy. We also require a refundable deposit of £500 against damage and loss to our property.
