This Moorish style coritjo has been designed and built with visual serenity, ambience, colours and comfort being of the utmost importance. Just 3km from the market town of Orgiva, nestling among the olive groves of Tijola, Cortijo el Castano is a quiet and peaceful retreat. The 10x5m private pool reflects the architectural style of the villa and is set amongst the orange, lemon, olive, palm and jacaranda trees. Relaxing by the pool amongst the olive groves with the superb mountain vistas, you will occasionally hear the sound of goats' bells in the distance and see horses trotting past. Nearby the white washed Berber villages, can be found clinging to the southern slopes of Spain’s highest mountain range. These were the last outposts of the Moors after the fall of Granada in the 16th century.

Just wanted to thank you again for your hospitality and say that we really enjoyed being in your lovely finca, you have done yourself proud, so much so that when we arrived at our 4 star hotel in Roquetas de Mar, we were saying that there was no comparison with your place. The rooms were plain and bare with little imagination and the furnishings simple. You really do offer quality. Fernando and Peggy - Marbella, Spain.
We were determined to have a relaxing holiday, but never dreamt it would be made so easy for us! This beautiful place you've both created is just perfect for winding down. You take a deep breath from the moment you arrive. Nothing is too much trouble and you've been able to strike the balance between friendliness and privacy. Beautiful area, Granada and the Alhambra we loved! Thank you very much’ - Carolyn, John, Adam and Freya Yorkshire, England.
