La Loma is a hilltop hideway set amongst 4 acres of olive groves with magnificent panoramic views over the lake, the charming villages of Iznajar and Rute and the surrounding mountains. Set on the edge of the Sierra Subettica, it is an ideal location for those seeking peace, tranquility, hillside walks, bird watching, painting/sketching and as a base from which to discover the cultural delights of Granada, Cordoba, Antequera, Ronda and Seville. Recently restored to include all the comforts of modern day living, there are two self catering casitas that can be hired individually or together for larger parties. There is an 10m by 5m swimming pool. Outside both casitas have private terraces.

The Master Bedroom is furnished with a double bed, bedside tables and a large wardrobe. The ensuite shower room is beautifully tiled with large shower, basin and wc. There is a cosy and comfortable Open plan kitchen / living area. Kitchen - Traditional Andalucian kitchen style with built in oven and hob. Fridge with freezer compartment, toaster, kettle etc and full range of cookware. Dining area with quality table and chairs for 2 people. Living area - A very cosy lounge area, stylishly furnished with 2 chairs, Satellite TV, DVD player, DVDs, games and books etc. Central heating for use in the cooler months. |

Notes on accommodation
Fans are provided in the summer months and the casitas are naturally cool as they benefit from the hilltop breezes in the summer.
Both Casitas are non smoking, but you are welcome to smoke outside on the terraces.
Linen and towels are changed twice per week in the summer and once a week the rest of the year.
Hairdryers, irons, ironing boards and clothes airers are provided.
Please to bring your own pool/beach towels.
Outside
Both the casitas have spacious and private terraces with pergolas, BBQs, table and chairs. There is a large shared pool (10m x 5m, depth from 1.4m to 1.9m) with steps at the shallow end. There are large tiled terraces surrounding the pool and they are equiped with sunloungers and cushions.
The pool and its terraces have breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Iznajar. There is a poolside shower and electric lamps light the pool and terraces at night.
Coast/Beach
Iznajar lake offers a sandy beach with swimming and boating available from the boat house, as well as fishing. The lake is a 10 mins drive away, and also offers a beach restaurant. The beaches of the Costa del Sol are an hour's drive away.
Golf
The nearest course to La Loma is the new course at Antequera which is now open. All 18 holes are challenging with plenty of water, narrow fairways, olive trees lining the first cut and subtle borrows on the greens. There are many interesting holes, a few spectacular ones and the views around the course are wonderful.
There is also a club at Granada, 50 mins drive, where non-members are welcome on weekdays. The famous golf courses of the Costa del Sol are approx 1 hour’s drive.
Both Antequera and Granada green fees are considerably lower than on the coast and the courses are better than most public courses on the Costa.
Skiing
The Sierra Nevada Mountains are around an 1½ hour’s drive away and the Sol y Nieve resort hosted one of the 1996 world ski championships events. It is smaller than other Nieven resorts (though much friendlier than some of the other more famous European resorts) it has sufficient runs to satisfy all standards of skier and boarder.
Special interest holidays
Take advantage of special Christmas and the January sale shopping trips/holidays in November, December and January. Email for details on mid week and weekend breaks. Prices include airport pickup and private car transport into Granada for shopping.
Ceramics, silver and inlaid woodwork are just some of the most famous craft products from Granada. There is a wide range of shops in the streets of Granada, from workshops, franchises, traditional and prestigious shops to shopping centres and street markets, giving the visitor numerous different alternatives for a day's shopping.
From the silver, crafted figures of the Alcaicería, to the fashion, shoes and perfumes of the shops in the centre of the city and the large shopping centres on the outskirts, including the second-hand objects in the street markets, Granada offers products to tempt all kinds of shoppers.
Travel
Malaga airport is 1 hour's drive from La Loma and Granada airport 50 mins drive. Travel from each airport is made easy by the excellent motorway system.

Car hire is essential to fully appreciate the area. Both airports have many rental companies on site.

Distances
Iznajar with its churches and Moorish castle is 10 minutes drive. La Loma is ideally situated to explore Cordoba, Malage and Granada provinces. Antequera is a 20 minute drive, Granada and the Alhambra are 50 minutes by car, Cordoba is a 60 minute drive, and Seville is just 2 hours away. Priego de Cordoba, a stunning Moorish and baroque town is just an hour's drive.
Spectacular Torcal Park and Flamingo Lake just 20 and 30 minutes away. There are also Donkey and Wolf Sanctuaries nearby.
Further details
Iznajar has plenty of shops, mini-supermarkets and banks with cash withdrawal points. There are plenty of rural restaurants.
For walkers there is a wealth of local walks to suit all abilities, including impressive El Torcal and Subetica National Parks. Horse riding is available 15 minutes away.
The owners, Gaynor and Martin, live discretely on site and are more than happy to provide any help you may need such as restaurants, bars, places to visit, where to shop etc.

A 25% non-returnable deposit is payable with booking and the balance is payable eight weeks before commencement of your holiday.
Please enquire about special rates for long lets, off peak and for daily lets during the autumn and winter.
A discount is available for those wishing to book both casitas and there is also an option to secure private pool usage when booking Casita La Loma.
