O Pombal' is a seaside villa, located in Natural Environment, 1minute on foot to the dune blue flagged beach of 'Limens' with clear waters and green slopes. Ahead, looking out to sea, the distinctive silhouette of the nearby Cíes Islands forms an impressive backdrop. It can be rented for 4, 6 or 10 people(up to 12)as the villa has got two separate apartments. It is ideal for small, large families/groups of friends who like BBQ, take part in ferry crossings to unspoilt Islands or in winnery tours. The local restaurant and small shop is reached on foot and a 3km journey takes you to the bustling waterside Cangas, which offers all amenities, excellent restaurants and colourfully market. If you like golf, play it in Domaio,ten minutes´drive, relax in La Toja Spa and enjoy its Casino. Visit the pilgrimage centre at Santiago de Compostela in 45 minutes´drive or get to nearby Portugal bargaing at Valença fortress.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in euros. Gas, electricity is included.
Wood for the fireplaces on both apartments is charged in low season.

March 2011- 30 April 2011= 1350 euros ; May 2011 = 1500 euros;

Changeover day
The changeover is on Friday/Saturday. Arrival time is at or after 5pm and departure time could be from 9 to 10am. Changeover could be flexible if it is communicated in time.
Notes on accommodation
It is also possible to rent both apartments for 10 people (up to 12) for a single large family or large groups of friends who prefer not to share the garden with unknown holidays makers and have at the same time their own privacy in separate independent units. For smaller groups of friends or families either apartment for six or four are comfortable enough. Linen and towels are provided. Electricity and gas fees are included in the price. 2 spare beds, two cradles and high chairs for babies are available. The villa is ideal for families with children and elderly people to enjoy in the safe garden or groups of friends who like enjoying together chatting, BBQ in privacy in the open air. When temperature drops in winter, one can keep oneself warm by the fireplaces and/or with electrical stoves in both apartments. Air-conditioning is not needed as the villa is waterfront and keeps enough cool in summer with the breeze from the sea and with temperatures usually ranging from 24 to 30ºC.
Accessibility
The downstairs apartment is recommended for people with mobility problems as it is not necessary to climb any stairs at all. It leads straight out on to the front and back fenced garden. The villa is perfectly located for Limens beach. Imagine stepping out of your garden gate and following a country lane and a wooden path for just 50m to reach the beach of fine white sand where wheelchairs are easily managed to be taken if you travel with elders who are to use them.
Outside
The grounds at O Pombal are in an enclosed garden (1000 sqm) with a covered dining area with a stone table, BBQ and crafted oven. The garden ensures absolute privacy for sun and siesta time sitting in the sunloungers under fig and lemon trees and lying on hammocks which are hung up under a plum tree where to read or relax. The garden is a safe place for children to play and perfect for elderly people to rest with easy access. At the back there is also a private garage to keep the car inside. There is also garden furniture: tables, chairs, parasols, deck chairs. There is also a toilet with a shower, wash, basin a WC next to the barbecue and another shower in the open air, placed in the garden used by vacationers to remove the sand and salt when returning from the beach in case they don´t have time to take a more relaxing bath or shower inside. Definitely it is a place for quality family time, chats with friends and for getting away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
Coast/Beach
The villa is located in Limens village, 2 minutes walk to the duna beach with impressive views to Vigo estuary and green slopes. Further excursions reveal a truly wonderful coastline littered with beautiful beaches in an area within 5 km around, some of them reached in 15 min walk following a path by the sea or walking through pines and eucalyptus: Sta Marta, Nerga, Barra (naturist beach),Cabo Home, Menduiña forming a perfect arc of white sand and plenty more where to enjoy breathtaking sunsets
Golf
The nearest golf course is called Ría de Vigo Golf Course" and it is magnificently located in Domaio, with impressive views to the Ría de Vigo estuary and the Cies Islands. It is is only 15km from the villa "O Pombal" and it takes you a short time to get there. The round is difficult and requires imagination and skill. The 18 holes combine beauty, difficulty and quality in equal measures. The numerous water hazards provided by the River Míño all along the round mean you will need care and accuracy on each shot. The 5th hole is worth a special mention; with a stroke index of 1, it is a versatile and well-designed par-4, sloping up towards the green. It offers an original and unusual feature in that the River Miño divides the fairway in two, so the player has to choose between two different routes, and all of this in an area of incomparable natural beauty combining sea and mountain.
Travel
The nearest airport to the villa is Vigo airport which is 20 minutes by car. There is also Santiago airport which is 1 hour by AP-9 motorway. If one wants to take one's car the fastest way is to take the ferry from Plymouth to Santander or from Portsmouth to Bilbao (north of Spain) and from there go to Vigo. It takes you 6 hours 27 mins to get to Vigo from Bilbao and 6 hours 26 mins from Santander. Car hire is also recommended to explore the surroundings, take part in winery tours.
Distances
The villa is located under 3km from cosy fishing villages and tourist resorts where one can watch at quaint harbours the boats coming in with their catches of the day or enjoy its cobbled narrow streets .From there, take one of the frequent twenty minute ferry crossings over the water to Vigo, a bustling and attractive centre with a wide range of shops and renowned restaurants; visit the pilgrimage centre of Santiago de Compostela in 45 ms´s drive, spend an unforgettable day in Cíes Islands.

There are 2 supermarkets next to the villa and restaurants where to have some ‘paella’, Spanish omelettes, seafood, fresh fish, nice steaks, beef, pork, lamb... for lunch or dinner at cheap prices; Also, the baker delivers tasty bread, Galician sweets and empanadas at the gate of the villa every day. The villa is 3km from Cangas, an important fishing and tourist resort with plenty of local cosy restaurants to taste Galician gastronomy, supermarkets, banks and shops. There is also a colourful market twice a week. You can also take different ferries to enjoy short ferry crossing and fiestas on board to the National Park of Atlantic Islands (Ons, Sálvora, Cortegada, and the well known Cíes Islands holding one of the best beaches in the world).There you can enjoy landscape, fauna, flora and impressive views and sunsets. If you like practising sports, you can do fishing, scuba diving, sailing, water skiing, horse riding, kayak,... or play golf in Domaio. Important musical events, gastronomic fiestas take place throughout the year in different villages. It is recommended to hire a car and make short excursions to the fishing ports in Vigo with a daily fishing market. Less than 30 minutes get to Pontevedra located in its own bay with its original old town and attractive plazas. Get to Tui, at the Portuguese frontier, the host of the kingdom of Gallaecia, with the cathedral(XI-XII).From there cross over Tui bridge to get to Valença fortress in Portugal,a hive of shops and cafés.For a longer trip(45 minutes) visit Santiago de Compostela the historical city, renowned for its stunning cathedral of St. James, its centrepiece and it is surrounded by cobbled streets, cafes, restaurants, "tapas" bars and shops. As Santiago de Compostela has been named the Cultural Capital of Europe, hosting the 'Holy Year'.It is a hive of cultural activities, ranging from concerts, theatre, musical events, art exhibitions, open air cinema, etc,not to mention the great atmosphere and street life

Customers have to do an advance payment of 30% out of the total amount beforehand, then, they have to pay the rest of money on their 1st day of stay and leave a deposit 300 euros per apartment, which will be back to them at the end of the stay.

Guest nº 1:The house was very comfortable and well furnished. The garden in particular had everything we needed in it. It was possible to sit in the sun at any time of the day. We had a wonderful week and enjoyed visiting the local beaches very much. They were stunning with white sand and turquoise sea."
Guest nº 2: The downstairs appartment we stayed in was spacious and clean and ideal for young children as it led straight out on to the large and safe garden (with its sunloungers and hammocks). It is perfectly located for Limens beach, a two minute walk away, which is completely unspoilt and has very few foreign tourists. There are lots of beaches a short drive away which are also lovely with views out to the islands.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The house is in a natural environment easily accessed by the blue- flagged beach in Limens (Cangas). The house was bought to get away at the weekends. My children were brought up there and birthday parties, family and friends gatherings, lots of barbecues took place in the garden throughout the years. We also enjoyed siestas under the fig tress, trekkings to the nearest sandy beaches and villages, stunning sunsets and landscapes, fiestas around, the bustling village of Cangas, just 3km away from the house, the tapas and the well renowned local cuisine: fresh fish and seafood, meat stock, roasted ham, roast beef...in traditional "tabernas" in narrow alleyways and now we hope you could enjoy all that as well.
