Recently built house, all on one level. Dining area has vaulted ceiling, street dustbins collected daily.
Accessibility
Absolutely no steps to access house, or within house, access to laundry room is down and up 5 steps.
Outside
Completely private, attractive, landscaped gravel garden, with terrace and driveway parking for 3 cars, accessed via electric gates. Garden lighting, panoramic views of mountains in the distance. Terrace has table and 8 chairs for alfresco dining and sun loungers. Sail awning for shade.
Coast/Beach
There are 2 nearby beaches; both 10 mins walk away, 3 min drive, both gently sloping and ideal for children, attended by lifeguards and first aiders in high season. There are nearby walks along the coastline, seaside promenade or in woodland. All within walking distance. Plenty of sporting activities are available, eg. snorkelling, wind surfing, water skiing, excursions in glass bottomed boats, other activities include parachuting, hot air ballooning etc.
Golf
There are 7 beautiful golf courses within 40 minutes drive of the villa. 36 hole Emporda course is only 20 minutes drive. Nearby crazy golf for family fun time.
Travel
Nearest airport is Girona, 45 mins drive, served by Ryanair. Barcelona airport, 90 mins drive served by various airlines. Perpingnan 90 mins drive, served by Ryanair. Taxis can be arranged to and from the airports. Sea ports: Calais 12 hour drive. Train: nearest station Figueras or Flaca, linking to Lille, onto UK via Channel tunnel. Car hire not essential but recommended for exploring further afield. Bicycle rental available locally.
Distances
There are many places of interest to explore in the area, to name a few: Greek and Roman ruins in Empurias, picturesque Sant Marti, the Salvador Dali museum in Figueras, Gala Dali's castle in Pubol, ceramic museum and ceramic shops in La Bisbal. Aiguamolls wildlife/bird wetland area along the coast, the anchovy museum in L'Escala. Details of places of interest are provided in the house.
Further details
There are many excellent local restaurants. Supermarkets and other interesting shops are a few minutes walk away. Cash machines and over 6 banks are located in the town. The Sunday morning market is within walking distance along the promenade.
