Casa Esquina is set at the edge of the village of Niguelas, near Granada, Andalucia, in southern Spain in a very peaceful and private corner, with a shady and verdant patio furnished for Al Fresco dining. There is a spacious roof terrace for sun bathing and for taking in the breathtaking views of the countryside and mountains. You can relax here in the evenings with a glass of wine and watch the sunset. On warm perfumed evenings, you can listen to the nightingales singing in the nearby formal gardens. The house is very conducive to complete relaxation, but there is no shortage of more active pursuits. You can learn to paint (see owners website, below), go skiing, fishing or birdwatching, visit the Alhambra in Granada (25 mins away), go to the beach sun bathing (30 mins away) or just chill out. Local history covers troglodytes, Romans, Arabs, and 15th century copyists of the Alhambra! The area of Niguelas has much to offer but the house itself is very conducive to total relaxation.

There is a general household market on Mondays, and the nearby town of Durcal offers a wide range of shops and services, and a market on Wednesdays.
The town hall is very interesting, housed within a fifteenth century mansion designed in homage to the Alhambra by a local nobleman. We had an absolutely wonderful time in your house, we couldn't believe how lucky we'd been in finding such a gem. It's such an amazing location, perfectly situated in such a quiet corner of the village, completely private and yet just a short amble to a choice of bars to get a taste of local life. It was also so ideally located just off the motorway too so close enough to Granada, the coast and the Alpujarra's/Lecrin Valley to be able to visit a host of different places.
