The villa is situated approximately 4 kms from Oliva, a market town with all the essential facilities, and approximately 6 kms from the coast. Oliva dates back to Roman times and has a wealth of interesting architecture going back to the 15 and 16 centuries. Oliva Playa is well known by the Spanish for its long golden sandy beaches where, during the summer season, there is the opportunity to enjoy a host of water sports. For those who enjoy walking or cycling we are ideally situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. There is a nature reserve near by and guided bird watching visits can be arranged. Within an hour you can travel to Valencia to enjoy stunning architecture, the botanical gardens, art galleries and museums, shops and restaurants.

Notes on accommodation
Unfortunately, the pool is unfenced and as such it is unsuitable for young children.
The satellite TV but with limited number of channels.

Accessibility
Sadly, there are a lot of steps around the villa and it is unsuitable for those with mobility problems.

Outside
The villa is situated in 4500 squ. metres of terraced land most of which is pine trees and heathers. There is an 8 x 4 metre salt water swimming pool with decking and poolside furniture. There is a patio with barbeque and outside dining facilities.

Coast/Beach
The Oliva coast line is well known by the Spanish for its long golden, sandy beaches. There is the option of enjoying the facilities at Oliva Playa, bars, restautants, water sports and beach activities or if you refer to relax in a little more space, peaceful sandune beaches are just as accessible, all within 15 minutes drive from the villa.

Golf
Ther are a number of golf courses within easy driving distance, the closest is Oliva Nova Golf which is approximately 8 km's from the villa

Special interest holidays
We have the facility to offer painting courses. Our studio is fully equipped with materials for watercolour, acrylic, oil and pastel painting. We have a superb range of locations in which to paint a wide range of subjects and we would be happy to organise painting trips. Beginners are very welcome and, if required, taster days can be organised.

Travel
We are sitsuated between Alicante and Valencia airports. Alicante is 1 hour 15 mins drive and Valencia can be reached within 1hr. In both instances the journey is mainly motorway.
Although we can arrange tranfers to both airports, car hire is essential if you wish to take advantage of all the local facilities.

Distances
Oliva, 10 mins by car.
Gandia, 15mins from Oliva by car or bus.
Valencia, 1 hr by car, alternatively the train from Gandia goes right into the city centre, takes 45 mins.
Benidorm, 45 mins by car.

Full range of facilities available in Oliva i.e. banks, restaurants, supermarkets, shops and leisure centre.
Major shopping centres, Gandia and Valencia.

About the owner
Hola. My wife, Gina and I retired early and moved to Oliva in 2005. We live in the adjoining villa so we are close at hand to make sure everything runs smoothly. We enjoy the tranquility of our rural retreat at Xiricull and Oliva's wonderful sandy beach. For exercise Gina enjoys swimming in summer and walking on the beach in winter and I play a little tennis. I also enjoy painting, I have an art studio and from time to time we organize painting holidays. We enjoy Oliva because it is an traditional market town, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, there are a number of expats living here so there is no problem if you don't speak Spanish but the locals appreciate it if you try.

Our villa was traditionally built in the 1970's, set in a tranquil rural area but with easy access to all amenities, the beach, mountains and some great Spanish restaurants.
