Luxury top floor two bedroom air-conditioned apartment, newly built in 2006. The apartment is situated on the beach front, there is no road between the apartment and the beach making it very safe for children and very peaceful. There are two communal swimming pools, one of which is a children’s pool, showers, disabled toilets and first aid block. The pools are open from the middle of June until the mid September. Lifeguards are on duty when the pools are open. The pool area is for residents and guests only, and has grass, palm trees are next to the beach. There's access to/from the beach via gates opened by key or via intercom linked to the apartment. The apartment has an open plan living area with two separate bedrooms & a bathroom. There are modern security and safety features like fire alarms and extinguishers in the block, one directly outside the front door. All communal areas are cleaned daily & are illuminated by movement responsive lighting. The atmosphere is totally Spanish.

You can stay for extra nights, for example 8 or 10 nights, and this means you can shop around for the cheapest flights. These will be charged at pro rata rates.
Changeover day
I am flexible on changeover days. Arrival after 3pm on of arrive & you are expected to vacate the apartment at 10am on day of departure. If I do not have anyone arriving the day of your departure then I am happy for you to stay later, by arrangement.

| Living area is fully air-conditioned & has patio doors onto the balcony. Bi-folding doors, which open up & slide back. Two leather sofa’s, side tables, lamp, a television & DVD player, CD player, dining table & 4 chairs. Childrens table & 2 chairs. Kitchen area - fully fitted units & granite work surface. dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, hob, oven/grill, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, jucier, plates, bowls, glasses, pots & pans & cutlery. Basically everything you have at home.Master bedroom - king size bed, bedside tables & lights. Fitted wardrobe & drawers. Wall light & full length mirror. Space for cot. Second bedroom - 2 single beds, a bedside table & light. Fitted wardrobe & drawers. Bathroom - shower over the bath , toilet, bidet & sink. Large mirror & shaving point. Terrace - table, chairs & light & you have views of pool area & the sea. You can even hear the waves lapping on the beach! There is a full width extending sun blind to provide shade. | |
Notes on accommodation
Marble floors throughout apartment (except bathroom) which is tiled.
Air-conditioning & heating throught the apartment.

Apartment is equipped with high-chair, cot, a small selection of toys, books and DVDs.
The apartment has:
iron & ironing board, kettle, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, hob, oven, jucier, extractor fan and light. DVD player, CD player & television. A selection of DVDs & CDs.
Bed lining (except for the cot) & beach, bath & hand towels are provide for your use during your stay.
The apartment will be cleaned and the beds made prior to your arrival.
Local property manager in Spain on hand for any emergency and advise.
Accessibility
You do not have to climb stairs anywhere in the building if you do not want to, there are lifts & slopes making it very easy for pushchairs & wheelchairs.
Outside
The terrace has an outside light, four chairs and a table and a sea view.
There are two communal swimming pools, one of which is a children’s pool, an outside Jacuzzi, showers, disabled toilets & first aid block. The pools are open June until the end of September. The exact opening & closing times of the pools are beyond our control. Life guards are on duty when the pools are open. The pool area is for residents and guests only, & has grass, palm trees & is next to the beach. There is access to & from the beach via gates opened by key or via intercom linked to the apartment.
Coast/Beach
Situated on the beach, with sea view from terrace. The beach is lined with palm trees and has children’s play areas consisting of climbing frame and slides. The local fishing boats land on the beach with their catch, which is then cooked in the local restaurants. Scuba diving school just 7km away.
Snorkeling is excellent here as the sa is crystal clear and full of fish.
Beach fishing is also very popular.
Golf
An 18 hole golf course is a 20 minute drive alone the coast, in Motril. They also hire all golf equipment.
Skiing
Driving distance to the Sierra Nevada - 1 hour.
Special interest holidays
Granada & the Alhambra only one hours drive. Sea fishing by boat, can be arranged for an extra charge.
Travel
Easy access to the following Airports: Almeria - an hour drive (90km). Granada - an hour. Malaga - an hour and a half. Car hire is recommended, as taxi transfers from the airports can be costly. I can recommend a local Englishman who carries out airport transfers a very reasonable price. The bus can be caught from all three airports, to Castel De Ferro, (then a five minute walk to apartment). I do not know how long the journey by bus takes.
Distances
A short stroll in either direction along the beach you will find a selection of shops, banks, cafes and restaurants. You can find snacks, fresh fish and salads or a special of the day, consisting of 3 courses, a drink and bread from approx 8 euros! Castell offers modern conveniences with a peaceful atmosphere. Motril is the nearest substantial town, a short drive. Granada is a modern university city and fantastic destination for a day out with the culture of Moorish Spain at the Alhambra Palace.
Further details
Excellent snorkeling off of the local beach, clear water, with an abundance of fish.
A Scuba diving school is located in the next village (7 km), which caters for all levels. Beginners to advance or people who just wish to hire equipment.
Horse riding, country walks and hiking are all popular activities along this coast line. Hiking Routes into and out of Castel De Ferro.

January 2007 - The days were very warm, nice to escape the cold winter in England. The nights were a little cooler and the heating was a luxury. The apartment was comfortable an the view very relaxing - Kelly and John (UK).

July 2008 - Quick, easy drive from the airport. Lovely modern and well-maintained apartment with a balcony that looks toward the sea. We spent our mornings on the beach and afternoons by the beautiful huge pool, has enough space for adults to swim lengths-children to play in the shallow end. Beach bar sells good beer with tapas-welcomed our children each day. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing time holiday. Recommended for families and couples - Karen and family (UK).
