We have 2 terraces both with views to mountains and Vilafames on the hillside; from our home we can clearly see the highest mountain in this region. We are situated in the peaceful countryside with easy road access to our house. From our front gate a number of outdoor activities can take place such as walking, jogging, mountain biking and birdwatching, and as the sun shines most of the time the outdoors can be an attractive place to be. The nearest sandy beaches are approximately 30 minutes away by car. Vilafames, a village of amazing character also houses the Museum of Contemporary Art and several bars and restaurants; a place you could easily meander around for an enjoyable day out. A painters paradise. The Costa del Azahar is one of the last remaining areas undiscovered, offering a pleasant climate. The province has the highest proportion of land protected in Parks and Nature Reserves in Spain. In short this is an attractive, very Spanish area with plenty of things to do.

Days of arrival & departure are flexible. We can accomodate arrivals after 2pm unless agreed otherwise; departure by 11am unless agreed otherwise.

Bedroom 1 with king size bed.
Bedroom 2 with twin beds.
Ensuite shower rooms with basin and wc, both of which are well sized.
We have comfortable seating for 6 people in our spacious lounge, where there is a large TV, a music system with a variety of CDs, & plenty of books to choose from. There are tea & coffee making facilities & a water dispenser always available.
Breakfast may be taken on the terrace or in the diner.
Towels, bed linen and beach towels are provided.

Notes on accommodation
Our accommodation is suitable for children, the twin room being directly next to the double room. Although there are ceiling fans the bedrooms have been situated in a cool area of the house, providing comfortable sleeping conditions in the heat of the summer.
Every window in the house has an anti-mosquito screen for your comfort.
For winter warmth there is central heating in every room and a wood burning stove in the lounge.
Some pets are welcome, please enquire.
Outside
The swimming pool is open during the summer months.
We have two terraces, the covered one is accessible directly from the lounge & the sun terrace has been made accessible via stairs up to the roof where the views are even more outstanding.
Our large garden has been beautifully landscaped, & includes many mature fruit trees which can be truly appreciated when in blossom & in fruit. Behind our garden we have 230 almond trees.
We provide garden & terrace furniture, so that you can enjoy our climate either in the sun or in the shade.
A car port will provide shade for your car in a secured location.
Coast/Beach
It takes approximately 30 minutes by car to the nearest lovely, sandy beaches of Benicasim, the popular resort of Alcossebre being only a 45 minute drive away,both of which are mostly occupied by Spanish holidaymakers.
At Benicassim there is a Water Park and Go-Cart circuit. Benicassim Music Festival in July.
One hour north is the Ebre Delta, a world heritage site where there is an abundance of bird life and provides great opportunities for cycling for the whole family. Bikes can be rented.
Golf
The golf course at Borriol is only a 20 minute drive from our home.
Travel
Our nearest airport is at Valencia where cheap rate carriers fly to and from, & just an hours drive away. Reus airport is 2 hours away & Barcelona just north of there.
The AP7 motorway is 15 kms from our house; maps will be provided.
Car hire can be arranged through the airlines, a car being essential. Solmar is reasonably priced & can be found on the internet.
Ferries from Southampton & Portsmouth dock at Santander/Bilbao.
Distances
1km to the most pictuesque village in the region,Vilafames, with its medievil, cobbled streets.
Castellon city is 20km and Valencia 100km, both holding attractions for those who enjoy older parts of cities & individual shops. The exciting city of Valencia is only an hours drive away. Its Oceanographic center & Science museum are housed in modern architecture that is quite spectacular.
The highest mountain in this region, 'Penygolosa' is approx: 1 1/2 hrs away, a challenge for fit walkers.

Valencia's Ricardo Tomo Circuit is only 1hr 15mins away and during Feb - March Formula 1 testing takes place, usually all teams attending.
A 45 min drive can take you to some Bronze Age cave paintings, also a beautiful area for walking.
