La Cabanya is an independent accommodation with more than 700 years of antique but reformed totally in May 2007. The house is situated in the village of Mata, only 2km from Banyoles lake and 35 km from the beach (Costa Brava). All the accommodation is rented whole (complete house) for a group of 2/5 persons. La Cabanya has got 2 rooms with a bathroom each one, a kitchen, a study, a living room with television, DVD and fireplace, air-conditioning and heating. Garden with barbecue and private swimming pool of 5x3 meters of exclusive use for the customers of "La Cabanya" with saline treatment and totally automated. The ideal situation of the house allows you to do a great variety of routes on foot or by bike around Banyoles lake. Also you can do different excursions around Girona's province since the house is situated in the middle of Girona's province. The house has an extensive collection of touristic information of the Pla de l'Estany region and the Girona's province. Free Wifi.

The most interesting place in Banyoles to visit, is the Olympic Banyoles lake that it was the olympic city of rowing in 1992.

Car is not essential because 300 meters of the house there is a bus stop. The bus goes to Barcelona city every day and Girona city.

The village of the house has got some local shops, a restaurant, and 2 banks (5 minutes in a walking distance).
However, 2 km. from the house there is Banyoles village, with five supermarkets, a lot of restaurants, banks and go on.
The climate of the Pla de l'estany region is the typically Mediterranean one. The proximity with the coast gives a soft temperatures during all the year.
During the spring there are some sunny days with pleasant temperatures (from 8ºC at the night to 33ºC at the day or from 46ºF to 91ºF), which will allow you to enjoy the privileged natural environment.
The summers, quite warm (from 15ºC to 35ºC or from 59ºF to 95ºF), they allow to carry out every type of aquatic activities.
In the autumn, however, the rains are frequent and the temperature is from 8ºC to 28ºC or from 46ºF to 82ºF.
The winters are soft and dry and the temperature is from 0ºC to 20ºC or from 32ºF to 68ºF.
The Banyoles lake (only 2 km. from the house) represents the origin and main symbolic identity of the town of Banyoles.
The lake and its associated lacustrine basin are regarded as the largest karstic stretch on the Iberian Peninsula, and make up an environmental system of enormous value.
It's located to the West of the town, it was declared part of the Plan for Spaces of National Interest (Pla d’Espais d’Interès Nacional, PEIN) by the Catalonia Generalitat. In 2003, it was included in the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance, and has been put forward for inclusion in the Natura 2000 Network for the Mediterranean region.
In addition, the Banyoles Town Council, as well as the local population, are petitioning for it to be declared a Nature Reserve.
