Completed in 2006, 'Casa de la Luna' offers spacious surroundings and is very well equipped with comfortable furnishings. It has Internet access, Sky T.V including sky sports ,Stereo music player and DVD player.The accommodation is of an excellent quality with far reaching views of the sea and countryside. This is a wonderfully peaceful area with a pleasant breeze yet it is only a few minutes away from excellent beaches and waterfront restaurants.There are plenty of opportunities for sport with Tennis and Riding in the village and local opportunities for scuba diving and sailing. Bicycles can be hired from the owner. There are excellent cycling and walking tracks in the area. Begur,our local village has fantastic restaurants and shops without being at all spoilt.It is a fascinating medieval hill town.

Prices are for the property per week in Euros. Short breaks are available for low season.Discounts for long winter lets available. POA. Upper level alone (accommodates six) can be rented during mid/low season.
Changeover day
Normally we rent from Saturday to Saturday but can be flexible. Check in time is after 16.00 hours to give our house management team time to prepare for your visit. Check out time 10.00 hours. Flexible out of season.

Notes on accommodation
Casa de la Luna has central heating and is available all year. It also has air conditioning. It has a wood burning stove There is ample off-road parking. Internet access is available Sky T.V and Sky sports.
Accessibility
The main living area of Casa de la Luna is accessed by a stairway so it would not be suitable for those people with mobility problems.
Outside
Casa de la Luna is built on the side of a hill and has very attractive outside areas. You will love our private pool (3m x 6m). This is tiled and provided with sunbeds and umbrellas for shade.It enjoys all day sun. There is also a flat lawned garden at the top of the property with a barbecue and garden furniture. The garden faces south and is very sunny but there is also a pleasant breeze and some shady areas.There are beautiful views from the garden,balcony and pool.We have a large balcony with an outside table and chairs for 10 as well as deck chairs.This is a lovely place to relax as it has electric awnings to create shade and a sofa foe reading or chatting.The garden is fenced and gated and safe for children.
Coast/Beach
There are beautiful beaches around Begur. Aigua Blava is a 5 mins drive and Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell and Tamariu are all within a short distance (approx 10-20 mins by car). In addition there is the opportunity to Scuba Dive at Aigua Blava. This area is a marine conservation area and is also well known for its well way marked coastal walking paths with its spectacular scenery. Playa Castell, a protected area is completely unspoilt and a marvellous place for a picnic.
Golf
Golf courses in this area are well known. 3 courses form the Golden Triangle in the area of Pals including a new championship course built in 2000. Pals is approx 10 minutes de from Casa de la Luna.
Emporda Golf course is made up of four 9 hole courses each of which can be combined to form 6 different rounds of 18 holes. Emporada is also one of PGA European Tour qualifying schools. Details: 27 holes. Length 6687 yds. Par 71-73
Pals Golf Club runs parallel with the beautiful white sands of Pals. Details. 18 holes. length 6740 yds. Par 73.
Serres De Pals
This is a new championship course. It is composed of 3 distinct areas with smooth hilltops, pine forests and fairways between lakes giving a challenge to golfers of all levels. Details. 18 holes. 6785 yds. Par 72. This whole area is a golfers' paradise especially in the autumn and spring. Courses are not very expensive or crowded.
Skiing
The nearest ski resort is approximately 2 hours drive away.
Travel
To really appreciate this fantastic area a car is essential. Our nearest airport is Girona approx 50 mins away and Barcelona airport is approx 90 minutes away so there is plenty of choice. There is a wide choice of car hire companies at reasonable prices.We usually use travel supermarket to get the best deal.
Distances
It is 1-2 km to Begur, a charming medieval castle town closed to traffic and with a very good choice of restaurants, tapas bars and exquisite shops. There is weekly entertainment in the town square in high season with music and dancing. There is also a market every wednesday. Girona is only 45 minutes away and very easy to get to, it is a beautiful city with a large market every saturday. There is a waterpark about 20 minutes away on the Palamos road.
Further details
This area has so much to offer, it is difficult to know where to begin. A must is Castell Gala Dali on the road to Gerona just after La Bisbal. This is the castle that Dali bought and developed for his wife. A fascinating place, it was decorated by Dali and has his magic touch. You can also have a traditional Catalan meal at Can Bosch, the village restaurant. The village itself is very pretty. The Dali museum at Figueres (about an hour) should not be missed and there are some lovely medieval towns to visit. E.g. The old walled village of Pals was restored after the civil war by a local doctor. It has won an architectural award. Go early or late in the day to appreciate its old buildings, walls and clock tower. Peratallada, another moated village with cobbled streets, antique shops, art galleries and good Catalan restaurants. La Bisbal, there are dozens of pottery shops here selling local Spanish pottery and is well worth a visit. It takes about 20 mins to get there.Gerona is a wonderful old city with incredible buildings. It is a 40 minute drive and is well worth it.
There is an excellent Riding school just outside Begur about 5 minutes drive. There are local scuba diving classes at Aigua Freda beach. There are three championship golf courses locally ande we can arrange transport for your group to and from the courses if you wish. Please ask us for help in arranging your golf holiday. A well stocked supermarket where you can buy freshly baked bread and provisions is a five minute walk from the house
There are excellent well marked trails for walkers and cycle paths. We can hire bikes for you if you wish.

Prue and Terence Martin.
We are both recently retired.Terence was a dentist and I was a teacher. We have three grown up children and two grandsons as well as a small dog! We love walking and travelling as well as the theatre and reading.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought a plot near Begur on the Costa Brava with fabulous views over the mountains to the sea in 2004 and built our house with a local builder.That way we could be sure of getting what we wanted. We have known and loved this area since we came here when our children were small. It has a great variety of things to do and something for everyone. There are beautiful bays with great restaurants, and lovely old villages to visit. The walking is marvellous whether you choose the coastal paths or to go inland to the mountains.You can indulge in all water sports as well as riding and the area has three championship golf courses.This is also Dalí country with three fascinating museums dedicated to his memory and we have Gerona,a fascinating city on our doorstep.
Unique benefits of the property
Our villa is two kilometres from Begur,a fifteen minute walk. Begur is a lovely town, it has stunning old buildings and narrow windy streets with beautiful shops and great bars and restaurants. Begur is lively and interesting without being spoilt and touristy. You can walk to our local supermarket to buy fresh provisions and bread. If you like to play golf,we can arrange transport for you and help you organise green fees. We can also arrange bike hire and,if you want to eat in, apart from two BBQ areas, we can arrange meals to be delivered to your home.
Our garden and pool have beautiful views and enjoy all day sun. We also know the area well and can give you lots of ideas about where to go and what to do.
