The villa is detached and has a private kidney shaped pool with steps down and a poolside shower. The walled mature gardens offer a good degree of privacy. The lounge/dining area is light and spacious with patio doors leading to the large sun terrace with patio furniture. There is also a large roof terrace with views of both the sea and mountains. The private drive accommodates up to 3 cars and has an electric security gate.

We offer a 5% discount for bookings of 2 weeks.
Changeover day
Earliest arrival time is 3pm (negotiable if villa is not let).
Latest check-out time is 11am (again can be negotiable depending on lets). For late check-ins (after 11pm) there will be an additional charge of 40 euros (payable in resort).

Notes on accommodation
There are air conditioning units (cold and hot) in both bedrooms and in the lounge/dining area. There are security shutters and mosquito nets on all windows.
This is a non smoking villa.
Due to the nature of the gardens (many cactus plants), this villa is not suitable for young children.
Outside
The gardens are well established with a large selection of flowers and cactus plants and an undergravel watering system, therefore unsuitable for families with small children.
The kidney shaped private pool is 32 sq.m. with a maximum depth of 1m 60. It has walk down graduated steps and a poolside shower.
There is a large covered patio with patio furniture.
There is a large roof terrace with fantastic views of the sea and the mountains behind.
Coast/Beach
The villa is just 10 minutes stroll from the main Plaza, and the new promenade with palm trees and beautiful sitting areas runs the entire length of the long sandy beach. There are numerous small beach bars where you can enjoy a morning coffee or lazy lunch. There are also several hidden small coves to find.
Golf
There are several golf courses in the region, all within a 30 minute drive, and a brand new course - Mundo Aguilon at Jaravia has just opened, which is a short drive from the villa.
Travel
Almeria Airport is 75 minutes drive away.
Murcia airport is about 70 minutes with a new motorway (toll) just opened (costs around 8-9 euros).
Alicante airport would be approximately 2½ hours.
Distances
The nearest town is Aguilas, a real Spanish town just 11km. There is a lovely bustling harbour area, or while away an afternoon in the pretty town centre square with its pavement bars, cafes and shops. Approximately 30 mins drive is the ancient village of Mojacar, with its whitewashed buildings and narrow streets, full of charm and old traditions, a definite 'must'. to visit. There are plenty of local information leaflets in the Villa for you to browse.
Further details
The village of San Juan de los Terreros is quite small, but surprisingly, there is a bank, a hairdressers, various small shops and a large supermarket that sells everything from groceries, fishing rods, live bait, garden furniture, souvenirs etc. There are also a couple of smaller supermarkets and a local breadman that calls round in his van each morning! During the summer months, San Juan holds its own local market, but there are ample markets in the region where you can pick up a wealth of bargains! The resort is quite busy in the season with many Spanish people visiting during July and August. The Plaza offers various open air events throughout the summer months
Booking notes
A deposit of 15% is required on booking, with balance of payment 21 days before departure. A bond of £120 is required in case of breakages, returned within 3 days of return. Water is included, but electricity is charged as used (checked by our caretakers on day of departure).

Aug 08: Our second stay at Casa Muneca, the first one only a week, so 2 weeks this time around. San Juan is a wonderful Spanish town with delightful restaurants and bars. The villa itself was like home from home having been before. Carol and Derrick are as always very helpful. As long as this villa is available to rent, we will be back every other year.
Aug 08: The villa was very well kept and as wer'e both keen cooks,we were thrilled to find the kitchen equipped with everything we needed. Pool was lovely & gardens well maintained. Even though there were some other villas close by the noise was minimal & it was very private. We were on our honeymoon and were not disappointed.
Oct 07 We had an excellent holiday -The villa & pool were excellent, we enjoyed many evenings sitting beside the pool until late and this was the middle of October. The other notable aspects were that the villa & pool were clean and has the benefit that the pool and patio area get the sun all day long
