Set in a peaceful valley, this rustic style property has all the modern comforts you may require for a relaxing holiday with large pool and stunning views. A traditional courtyard filled with vines and flowers provides a cool, calm area for your relaxed evening meals under the stars. We are situated between Loja and Huetor Tajar, about 40 minutes from the closest airport. We provide an extensive welcome pack for your convenience, and there are some small supermarkets and bars in the nearby village of Ventorros de San Jose. El Granero, which is a restored barn, is entered through our pretty courtyard and is all on one level. It is furnished with your comfort in mind. The open plan living area has a Spanish style kitchen diner, and the sofas are set around a log burning stove for those cosy winter visits. Two bedrooms, one double and one twin and modern bathroom complete the barn apartment. Terracotta floor tiles and wooden shutters means it remains cool throughout the day.

Changeover day
Please try to arrange your arrival for after 2.00pm and departure by 12.30. However, these times are flexible and we will be happy to sit you by the pool with a cool drink whilst we make your accommodation ready.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has double bed and a safe for your convenience looking into enclosed courtyard.
Bedroom 2 has twin beds and views over olive groves. Ironing board and iron.
Bathrooms: Bathroom has a powerful shower, wc and basin. All towels provided.
Kitchen: Andalucian style fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob, microwave and fridge freezer. We include an extensive welcome pack and are happy to take your shopping list if you don't fancy the supermarket run yourselves.
Living Rooms: Our open plan lounge has two sofas, satellite TV, DVD player and wood burning stove for cosy winter visits. Wood supplied at no extra cost. The handmade terracotta floor tiles and wooden shutters keep the apartment cool throughout the day.
Other: Our enclosed vine filled courtyard has table and chairs for shady lunches with barbecue.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and linen are provided and are changed twice for fortnight or 10 day stays. Towels are changed once for a weekly stay. We can offer a maid service if required at no extra cost. Use of laundry facilities.

Please let us know if you wish a more extensive welcome pack and we will be happy to shop for you. E-mail your shopping list to us. Set evening meals are also available at €15 per head including wine, please ask us for details. We have two dogs ourselves so well behaved pet dogs are welcome.

Accessibility
Although our property is quite easy to find, we will be happy to meet you at the local hotel, just off the motorway. This has proved to be popular with guest arriving late at night. We are situated at the end of a short country track. Accessibilty is easy for all types of car. We are not suitable for wheelchair users due to cobbled courtyard.

Outside
We are situated amongst rolling fields and olive groves with flower gardens surrounding the house. The courtyard has dining table and chairs for shady lunches with barbecue. Our large 9M x 5M pool is surrounded by a large terrace with sun beds, cushions pool toys and barbecue. The pool is shared only by the owners. However we do try to give our guests as much privacy as possible

Coast/Beach
Granada is a large and diverse province. There is the coastal area with its warm climate; the extensive, fertile Genil plain; and the mountainous regions with a colder climate, where the saying is you can ski in the morning and be on the coast to swim in the sea by the afternoon. The Costa Tropical is traditionally where the Spanish holiday and is made up of quiet, pretty coves and un-crowded beaches with their famous beach-side bars. We are about 50 mins away.

Golf
There is golf at Antequera, just to the east of our accommodation.

Skiing
The Sierra Nevada ski resorts are about an hour away.

We have extensive maps and pamphlets to help you plan a few days away from the pool and recommendations of restaurants and bars to try in the local villages.

Travel
Malaga airport is just over an hour away. Granada airport is about 40 minutes away with daily flights from the UK. A hire car is needed for our property and can be arranged with flights. Please contact us for website addresses.

Distances
We are perfectly situated to explore all the main cities of Andalucia being just 20 minutes from the main A92 motorway. Shops and bars are about 12 minutes from the property in the small village of Ventorros de San Jose. We are 45 minutes from the historic city of Granada. For tickets to the famous Alhambra please contact us for website addresses. We recommend purchasing these in advance. The A92 motorway is close by supplying links to other historic cities and the Costa Tropical.

Further details
We offer a tranquil, rural base for your holiday. There are many activities close by for those looking for a more active holiday. Our local town of Huetor Tajar offers lively bars and restaurants with a bustling market on Tuesday's and a new large supermarket. The surrounding villages have a slower life style with bars used by locals. Try these for a true taste of real Spain. Free tapas served with every alcoholic drink. The nearby lake at Iznajar offer a touch of beach holiday with a lively beach bar. Alhama de Granada offers a beautiful village with the added advantage of Spa (either in the smart hotel or in the river itself).

Booking notes
We require a 20% non refundable deposit to secure your holiday on booking. Balance of payment is due 6 weeks before your arrival. All the details will be in our confirmation letter.
