Lovely traditional Catalan villa with 3 double bedrooms and a bright airy interior. This charming property is mostly furnished in old oak adding to the simple yet tasteful and comfortable feel of the villa. French windows lead onto a covered terrace with open views of rolling hills. The villa stands in a large plot of more than 900 sq.m. with a delightful garden over 2 terraces. The historic town of Begur, often described as the pearl of the Costa Brava, is within easy reach and the stunning sandy beaches of Sa Riera and Aiguablava are just a short drive away. The pretty villages and beautiful beaches of Tamariu, Llafranc and Calella (linked by a coastal path) are only 10-15 minutes away. Inland there is much to explore, including the medieval villages of Peratallada and Pals. Active visitors can choose locally from golf, diving, horse riding, walking and cycling. Children will enjoy the water park at Palamos.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday (or by arrangement out of high season). Arrival is 4pm -7pm (we can make arrangements for late arrivals). Departure is by 10am.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with large double bed.
Bedroom 2 with twin beds.
Bedroom 3 with twin beds.
All bedrooms have ample storage, bedside tables and reading lights.
Bathrooms: Bathroom with bath/shower over, wc, bidet. Plenty of storage. Hairdryer.
Kitchen: Kitchen has marble worktops, ceramic sink and wooden butcher's table. All crockery, utensils etc. replaced April 2007.
Living Rooms: Open plan living room and dining area with stone fireplace and French windows leading onto good sized south-facing covered terrace. The tasteful and comfortable furniture is predominantly traditional. TV and DVD player.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen and bathroom towels included in the price. Villa is cleaned prior to arrival.

 

Notes on accommodation
Electric fans are provided for summer months. In cooler months the open fire soon warms the villa. Electric heaters are also available by arrangement.

Accessibility
Steps up to the villa and the split level design makes this property unsuitable for wheelchair users or people with mobility problems. Parents should be aware that some areas of the property are unfenced. We advise that children should be supervised at all times.

Outside
The large 900sq.m. private garden consists of two contrasting terraces. The upper terrace was completely re-landscaped in summer 2007 and features a large lawned area and pretty borders making it ideal for sunbathing, playing and al fresco dining. Outdoor furniture and a barbeque are provided. The lower terrace (together with the area to the rear of the house) has been left in a natural state and is shaded by tall pine trees.

Coast/Beach
The Costa Brava is a stunning coastline, featuring numerous small, sheltered beaches backed by rugged, tree covered hillsides. The closest beach is Aiguablava, a beautiful small sandy beach topped by a Parador (well worth visiting for a drink). Sa Riera, Sa Tuna and Fornells are also lovely beaches nearby. Within 15 minutes are the pretty villages of Calella, Llafranc and Tamariu which feature picturesque sandy bays and a host of waterfront bars and restaurants.

Golf
There is access to a number of local golf courses. Details are available on request and in the house manual.

Skiing
There is skiing in the Pyrenees (approx 2 hours drive) and in Andorra (approx 3 hours drive).

Travel
Girona airport is approx 60 min drive. Barcelona airport is approx 90 min drive. Perpignan airport is approx 90 min drive. Use of a car is strongly recommended if you are to make the most of your stay in this area.

By car: Begur (charming hillside town, topped by medieval castle with shops, market, restaurants, bars, banks) 2 min
Palafrugell (excellent shopping, especially "Serra" for the bakery, deli and wine, plus a lively Sunday market) 10 min
Coastal villages of Calella, Llafranc and Tamariu 15 min
Peratallada (medieval village, excellent restaurants) 20 min
La Bisbal (famous for ceramics) 20 min
Girona (cultural centre, a mini Barcelona) 1 hour

Booking notes
We ask for a 30% non-refundable deposit in order to secure your booking. The balance is required 6 weeks prior to departure. Final payment should include an additional cheque for £200 which will only be cashed in the event of damage or breakages.
All instructions and directions will be sent prior to departure. Keys are collected from our local agent.
