This superior 2 bedroom townhouse which has recently been refurbished to a high standard is tucked away in the idyllic Cortijo Grande valley, situated on a breathtaking mountainous 9 hole golf course, away from the tourist spots but conveniently situated. The best beaches in Almeria at Mojacar are 10 minutes drive away, a mile or two beyond Mojacar village, other golf courses are available within a 15 minute drive.

Notes on accommodation
For winter use, there are three modern portable electric oil heaters. The air conditioning unit in master bedroom also provides warm air. Ample free parking.
Outside
Open terrace area with garden furniture and sun loungers opens onto golf course (breathtaking mountain views). Communal swimming pool 5 minutes from house.
Coast/Beach
The beaches of Mojacar are only a short drive away with excellent sandy beaches which strech for miles along the coast. There are many other unspoilt coastal lines and quaint spainsh towns to explore within reasonable driving distance.
Golf
The current 9 hole golf course with its majestic craggy mountain backdrop and gently undulating groves of orange and olive trees is always visually arresting. Watered from an underground volcanic lake, the valley has been a paradise for centuries. Today these very same trees frame and embellish the fairways and greens. Complementing the citrus groves are rivulets, gullies and terraced hillsides sufficient to keep even the most proficient golfer focused. Skiing
Skiing in Sierra Nevada is just a 2¼ hours away offering quality pistes and varied après ski facilities.
Special interest holidays
We are situated in the mountains, in an area good for walking and trekking by horse or mountain bike, both for hire locally. The beaches of Mojacar are only a short drive away with excellent sandy beaches which stretch for miles along the coast. The marina in nearby Garrucha offers something for both the amateur and professional seafarer, and day trips or yacht hire to sample some of the more inaccessible coastline and virgin beaches. Also there is a water park 10km away from the valley.
Travel
While the Cortijo Grande valley is discretely hidden in the foothills of Cabrera, access couldn't be easier. The valley is situated just 80km from Almeria, 215km from Alicante, 150km from Murcia-all served with daily flights from UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. Take the 520 exit off the N-340 motorway marked Turre/Mojacar and follow the winding road for just over 2.7km to the stone arches of the old entrance to Cortijo Grande (detailed directions provided).
Distances
Turre (3km) is the local village with a modern supermarket and a good choice of family run restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine, as well as plenty of traditional Spanish. The popular Los Limoneros bar and restaurant is a 10 min stroll from the townhouse, handy for those lazy days, there is also a tranquil swimming pool available for daily use at the restaurant. The Arabic style village of Cabrera which you can see from the house, perched in the mountains, is a short scenic drive.

We fell in love with the valley the first time we visited, and the next day we put an offer in for the house and within a few weeks we were back choosing furniture!
