The property consists of two self contained apartments sleeping up to 14 people. We accommodate one small group of up to 7 people or a large group of up to 14 people. (The house is only ever occupied by one party at the same time whether large or small). Clients have sole use of the private gardens and heated pool.

As there are flights to Malaga and Granada everyday we have no preferred day of arrival we can be flexible depending on availability.

The downstairs property would be suitable for poeple with mobility problems as it is on one level.
Outside
Gardens are enclosed with little fountain and plenty of shade, outdoor furniture is provided, solar heated swimming pool is private. Pool size is 8 x 4mtrs.
Coast/Beach
The Lakes at Bermajeles is 10 minutes by car. The coast is about 1 hour away with some of the most beautiful beaches, most are quiet, peaceful and secluded. The city of Granada is about 45 minutes, which has lots if shops and all the attractions of a major city.
Skiing
The Siera Nevada is 45 Mins drive.
Travel
Granada airport is 45 minutes away, Malaga airport is 1 hour away. Car hire is available in both airports, which would be recommended.
Distances
Alhama de Granada is the nearest town, which is of great historic interest. There is a local market on Fridays, a tourist information centre in the old part of town. On the outskirts there are "Hot Mineral Springs". Recommended for any time of year, soak away any aches and pains. Granada hosts the eigth wonder of the world Alhambra Palace. Must been seen to appreciate the splendour and magnificence of another world and time.
Further details
The area will appeal to the health conscious. As the air is very fresh, nice clear sunny days in winter. Summer while warm you can still get a sleep at night. Jatar is very popular with walkers, cyclists, horse riders. You can find canoeing, sailing or swimming, hand gliding on the lake Bermejales or just relax and have a picnic. The Sierra Nevada Mountains are about 60 minutes away. Good for summer walks and skiing.

About the owner
My husband Brian and I live between Spain and Scotland. We love Spain but have some family in Scotland and need to see them regularly and with the cost and availability of flights makes this possible. We are hardworking and try our best to make guests feel at home as soon as guests arrive we show them as much of the house pointing out the necessary then we leave and let them enjoy their holiday. The area of Andalucia suits us very well the climate is lovely and at the height of summer you can still get a sleep at night as it is very fresh. Also it has a low cost of living compared to other parts of Spain. As we have various properties in Scotland long term lets and holiday lets, ref sc45. which are very successful, also makes it necessary to return to Scotland

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought the property with the view of doing holiday rental of the downstairs property but after our first guests they were downstairs and we were upstairs we realised that this was not fair on our guests or us, realising how important holidays are. So now we rent out either the downstairs apartment or the whole house to a larger group. We love the house it is quite a dream come true. We do feel very privileged to have such a beautiful home and live in a proper Spanish village with people who are just getting on with their lives. While the house is in a quiet village the access roads are excellent to the city of Granada or the coast.
Unique benefits of the property
The area around Jatar is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, The tranquility is so good for us we feel very content. The local people have made us very welcome. I have been invited to yoga and they help me with the language as it is a struggle. We also get invited to anything that is on in the village. We never expect to be Spanish but we try hard to intergrate and the locals are very accepting of us and have been very helpful on occasions. It is not easy moving to a foreign country, but we are very settled and could not have found anywhere nicer. We know that because we spent about 4/5 years searching.
