Outside
The community pool is a short walk from the villa as is paddle tennis court, both situated in a pretty and naturally shaded area of olive trees and shrubbery. Pool is open in summer months only. Paddle tennis equipment supplied. The villa has 2 large terraces - the lower terrace with steps down to the garden, small independent barbecue and sun loungers, chairs and bench, marble dining table to seat 8. Upper terrace accessed from bedrooms 1 and 2 also with marble table. Terraces and garden are south facing and enjoy views across a green valley. An ancient olive tree gives natural shade at the bottom of the garden.
Coast/Beach
The closest beaches are at Sotogrande and Alcaidesa, both just 5-10 minutes drive. Sailing and watersports are offered at both, while Alcaidesa is a long stretch of beach for walking, jogging and excellent views to Gibraltar. Cirringhito (beach bars) in operation on both though summer. Tarifa offers fantastic sandy beaches, appealing to more adventurous surfers - kite/wind and even galloping horses through the breakers - 40 mins drive.
Golf
The golf courses of Valderama and Almenara are just minutes away, whilst those of San Roque, Sotogrande, Alcaidesa and La Canada are also just minutes by car.
Travel
Gibraltar airport 30 mins and Malaga 1 hour. Algeciras Port with ferries to Morrocco about 40 mins. A car is necessary. Good supermarkets and small shops are within 5 mins drive.
Further details
Further afield, for the occasional day trip is Ronda, famous for it's drive through beautiful mountain scenery, Granada and the Alhambra Palace, Jerez de la Frontera with the wonderful dancing horses of Andalucia and the sherry bodegas, the Rock of Gibraltar with the Barbary Apes and duty free shopping, the beautiful cities of Seville and Cordoba or maybe even a day trip across the Gibraltar Straits to Tangiers and Morocco plus many more attractions.
