Coast/Beach
CasAlegria is about 50 minutes drive from the nearest beaches of the Costa Blanca and the Costa Calida. The numerous beaches and delights on offer in the Alicante and Murcia regions can be found on our website.

Golf
CasAlegria provides the very rare opportunity for a large group of golfers to reside at the same venue for their golfing trip and unwind together! Completely self-catering or breakfast included can be combined with eating out at the many local restaurants and bars in the area. There are numerous excellent golf courses in the Alicante and Murcia regions, including La Manga, all within an hour's drive. Although 3 new golf courses are in the process of being built at Jumilla (15 minutes drive) and 1 at Fortuna (20 minutes drive), with the opening scheduled to be in 2007, at present the nearest 18 hole golf courses are at Alenda (30 minutes drive) and Altoreal (25 minutes drive). The region's climate is an added bonus, with spring and autumn temperatures in the mid 20s, ideal weather for golfing. Where else can you go in Europe and have guaranteed sun all year round? More information regarding golf can be found on our website www.casalegria.co.uk.

Special interest holidays
The venue is ideal for a variety of affinity groups from extended families, groups of friends, to members of an organization or group with similar interests who wish to reside at the same venue and unwind together! Completely self-catering or breakfast included can be combined with eating out at the many local restaurants and bars in the area. Our guests have ranged from music/perfoming arts groups to Tai Chi groups and from University students to a horse riding group (Horse riding and lessons are available from an English owned stables only 5 minutes drive away).
CasAlegria is approximately a mile from the Sierra de la Pila, a large Regional Park in Murcia. It is a mountainous area covered by pine forests and relatively virgin territory, yet to be discovered by the masses. The area is fantastic for walkers and mountain bikers, with miles and miles of forest service tracks and single paths, and should appeal to all those who love the outdoors.

Travel
The nearest airports are at Alicante (50 minutes drive) and Murcia (60 minutes drive) and there are many cheap flights into both airports. Car hire available from the airports is advised, as it provides total independence, although transfers from/to the airport can be arranged as an optional extra. Flights and car hire links can be found on our website.

Distances
CasAlegria is within walking distance of a number of small pueblos and the towns of Pinoso (El Pinos) and Jumilla (the city of wine) are only 10 to 20 minutes easy drive away. Most of the local pueblos have a bar/restaurant and there are numerous in Pinoso and Jumilla. There is a local shop at Canada del Trigo (5 minutes drive) and the nearby towns have a number of supermarkets as well as traditional markets. There are numerous Bodegas, within a 5 mile radius, where wine can be purchased.

Further details
Although CasAlegria is less than an hour away from the historic, bustling cities of Alicante and Murcia, this region is ideal for those in search of relaxation, nature, sport and good food. The mountains here are full of wild game and woodland, and crowned with castles, fortresses, hermitages and convents.
Stories and ancient legends enshroud these evocative, welcoming parts, inviting you with their robust, tasty cuisine to enjoy a few days' relaxation in the fresh country air. The breeze from the nearby Sierra de El Carche refreshes the entire area in summer.
Quiet, sleepy towns, such as Abinilla, Calasparra, Cieza, Fortuna, Jumilla, Yecla, and numerous other localities open their doors to visitors in search of new, tranquil sensations. They are ideal for those who want to lose themselves for a few hours among elms, pines, oaks and junipers, visit archaeological sites, experience traditional lifestyles, and to regain their strength, before sitting down to a traditional meal accompanied by a fine bottle of local 'Denominación de Origen' wine. However, for certain weeks in the year, all these quiet towns burst into life with traditional and very colourful fiestas such as the Vendimia (Grape Harvest) in Jumilla.
The more adventurous can paddle a canoe or go rafting on the River Segura, go walking, cycling or horse riding. Others may prefer Aqualandia, a beach, golf, tennis, table tennis, 5-a-side football or boules. However, for those wishing to thoroughly 'chill-out', there is always simply reading a book by the pool in CasAlegria's tranquil courtyard before cooking delicious, fresh produce, bought from a local market, on our huge, traditional barbecue. It is a merely a question of taste!
