There is a discount for extended stays of over 2 weeks outside of the high season.
Changeover day
The preferred changeover day is a Saturday although we do try to be flexible whenever possible. In a similar way, even though normally the departure time is 10.30am and the arrival time is 3pm if we can help with this then we do.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with a new super king size bed. Bedroom 2 with twin beds plus comfortable fold-out bed. The twin beds can be zipped together to make a second super king size bed. |
| Bathrooms: | En-suite bathroom to bedroom 1 with bath/shower, 2 basins, WC and bidet. Adjacent bathroom for bedroom 2 with bath/shower, basin, WC and bidet. There are 2 windows in each bathroom to give plenty of natural daylight and fresh air. |
| Kitchen: | Oven, ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, washing-machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee-maker, juicer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board. The kitchen is brand new and is extremely well equipped and very spacious with a lovely breakfast bar. |
| Living Rooms: | Our very spacious and comfortable lounger/diner has two sofas, an armchair, 6 seater dining table, feature fireplace, satellite television with 14 English channels, DVD, video, mini hi-fi with CD and cassette player, opens directly to the large terrace. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Very good quality bed linen, including duvets in the winter and towels for the bathroom are provided. A weekly maid service, for stays of 2 weeks or more, is included in the rate when the apartment is cleaned and the towels and bed linen are changed. |
Notes on accommodation
The apartment has recently installed and very efficient air-conditioning and heating. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms have mosquito screens fitted to the windows, consequently although mosquitoes are fortunately not a major problem here, you are able to enjoy the major benefit of being able to sleep with the windows open on warm summer nights! As it used to be our second home before we moved to another apartment here in El Presidente, we know from personal experience that it is suitable for children. However should you prefer a ground floor apartment we do have a one and a two bedroom apartment available in El Presidente which benefit from having south-facing private gardens that lead directly to the pool.

We also have a ground floor apartment available that is much easier to access for those with mobility difficulties.
Outside
El Presidente has beautiful, colourful and extensive sub-tropical gardens, the largest of which our apartment overlooks. There are also very attractive water gardens with fountains and waterfalls, modelled on the Alhambra Palace in Granada, that provide restful areas of tranquility. In addition we have five swimming pools, one of which is heated during the cooler months. The huge main swimming pool, that our apartment also overlooks, is lagoon shaped with a central island connected by a timber bridge, has a children's paddling area and sloping sides to give easy access to the water. To the rear of our apartment is another pool that has lovely submerged seating around circular tables - a great place to cool down in the summer whilst having a quiet read or chat with friends and family. Our spacious main terrace has 2 sun loungers and a 6 seater dining table and the terrace for the main bedroom has 2 reclining chairs and a coffee table. BBQs are possible on the ground floor.
Coast/Beach
The beach is just 200m away along the path that by-passes the trees that separate us from the sea. Bordering the beach is a lengthy stretch of unspoilt land with pine trees, small sand dunes and no buildings!! Either side of it are 3 chiringuitos (beach-bar restaurants) that are great places to have a quiet drink or meal whilst enjoying the magnificent view across to Gibraltar and North Africa, gorgeous sunsets or the moonlit sea! There is also a nearby water-sports centre.
Golf
With over 30 golf courses in the area, including many close to Marbella and Estepona and a number a championship standard such as Valderama, there are plenty of opportunities to improve your game with some of the best playing conditions in Europe, and that includes the weather! Next door to El Presidente there are the extremely good courses at El Paraiso, Los Flamingos and Atalaya Park.
Other local courses include: Aloha, Estepona Golf, Guadalmina, Golf Sotoserena, La Dama de Noche, La Duquesa Golf and Country Club, La Quinta, Las Brisas, Los Almendros, Los Arqueros, Los Naranjos, Monte Mayor Golf Club, Marbella Club Resort, Marbella Golf, Monte Paraiso and San Roque.
Travel
Whilst the majority of our visitors fly in to Malaga airport, which is about a 45 min drive from us, it is also possible to fly in to Gibraltar and Seville. We can help to arrange either your transfer from Malaga airport or fast-track discount car rental. Whilst there is a regular bus service and a taxi rank just outside of El Presidente, we would recommend at least considering renting a hire car as it compares well with the cost of a taxi and would give you additional flexibility whilst here.
Distances
San Pedro de Alcantara 2km. Puerto Banus 4km. Marbella 10km. Estepona 12km. Selwo Adventure Park 5km. Granada, Seville and Cordoba are all about a 2 hours drive from us and Ronda and Gibraltar are about an hour away.
Further details
As well as our three chiringuitos (beach-bar restaurants) that are on our nearby beach, it is also a short walk to the many excellent restaurants and bars that are just outside of El Presidente. Covering a wide range of cuisines, they include Spanish, British, Italian, Lebanese, Moroccan, Chinese, Indian and French. Indeed many of their customers travel long distances just to come to them and we are therefore extremely fortunate to have them just outside of El Presidente. Most of them also have outdoor gardens and terraces which are wonderful places to dine under the stars on warm summer nights and are open throughout the year.
In the same area there are also shops, banks, supermarkets and even a specialist butcher. A short drive from El Presidente there are the large commercial and shopping centres in Puerto Banus and Marbella which remain open from approximately 10am -10pm at least 6 days per week. Each of our local towns also has a weekly market, the one on a Saturday in Puerto Banus is particularly popular.
A short drive from El Presidente are the white walled towns of Benahavis, Casares and Mijas which are wonderful places to wander round and explore. Close to these places there is also some beautiful countryside to enjoy walking in and to get a real sense of being away from it all!
It is worth noting that El Presidente is in a particularly privileged position, not just because it is so beautiful, spacious and tranquil, but also because it is located right next to the beach and the sea. Consequently in comparison with most other apartments that are located slightly away from the coast, we are warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer so that we are able to avoid the oppressive heat found inland. Indeed the climate is so pleasant here that we only very occasionally find it necessary to use our air-conditioning in the summer. For example in the summer our average temperature is a very pleasant 28 degrees centigrade.
Booking notes
A deposit of £100 per week is requested following the booking confirmation with the balance payable in euros following arrival. As we also live in El Presidente, we will be able to welcome you personally, introduce you to the complex and the surrounding area and take you to your apartment. Consequently we are also on-site should you experience any problems whilst you are staying with us.

Dear Peter and Sylvia this is just to say thank you for our stay in your apartment. You made us very welcome and the apartment was perfect and the setting is really beautiful with the pools and mature trees. The apartment had everything one could wish for. It is a credit to you both. We especially liked the extra touches like the beds being already made up and the lovely soft towels.
