Casa Emilia is nestled among the olive groves. This rural setting provides the perfect escape from the manic pace of day-to-day life. Only 3km from the Andalucian town of Iznajar, this comfortable house offers everything you need for a relaxing holiday. 3 double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen opening onto a shaded terrace for outdoor eating, sun terraces and of course a private swimming pool set within a walled garden. Iznajar is overlooked by its 8th Century Moorish castle and surrounded by the Lake of Andalucia and stunning mountain scenery. It is ideally situated for those who wish to explore the sights and history of Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Ronda and Malaga. Granada and Malaga airports are approximately an hour’s drive.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 - double bed with wardrobe, dressing table and bedside units. This room is also fitted with an air conditioning unit.
Bedroom 2 and Bedroom 3 - both have twin beds, wardrobe, drawer space and bedside cabinets.
Bathrooms: En suite shower room to Bedroom 1 with a dressing area.
Large family bathroom with full size bath and separate corner shower, en-suite to Bedrooms 2 and 3.
Downstairs shower room with w.c.
Kitchen: The kitchen/diner is fully fitted with electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Doors from the kitchen open into a courtyard with a covered porch area and also to a covered terrace with table and chairs overlooking the pool.
Utility Room: A washing machine is available, together with an iron and ironing board should you require them.
Living Rooms: 2 lounge areas each with sofa and armchairs. There is also a satellite TV with DVD and video player.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
The house is cleaned weekly and all towels and bed linen provided are changed weekly. Please bring your own poolside/beach towels as these are not provided.

Notes on accommodation
There is also a large circular trampoline (for all ages) and a child's play area with swings and slide (suitable for children up to the age of 14).

Outside
The 8x4m swimming pool is set within a walled garden with an area of grass and patio with sun loungers for soaking up the sun. The swimming pool is on a lower level to the cortijo and is accessed via a gate. There is also a poolside gazebo and further table and chairs. A BBQ is provided in the courtyard.

Coast/Beach
The lake has a beach area where you can swim and enjoy a leisurely drink and meal at La Valderana beach bar. During Spanish holiday times pedaloes and canoes are available to hire. The Costa del Sol is only 1 hour away with beaches from Nerja, through Malaga to Marbella.

Golf
Antequera boasts an interesting 18-hole course with a good club house and restaurant. Greenfare is approximately 40 euros with buggy hire, but special offers are often available during the summer months. Many further golf courses approximately 1 - 1½ hours drive.

Travel
Granada Airport is 1 hour, Malaga 80 minutes. Both airports are an easy drive, mainly by motorway, to Iznajar town, and both are serviced by many of the low cost airlines from all over the UK. Car hire is essential.

Distances
Iznajar is a friendly town only 10 mins drive away with several well stocked stores, 3 butchers and a fish market where you can purchase all your supplies. There is also a general market on Tuesdays. Andalucian cities offer much to explore including moorish world heritage sites at Granada (1 hour) and Cordoba (1½ hours). In addition Seville (2 hours), Malaga (1 hour), Ronda (2 hours) and Antequera (40 mins) offer many fabulous buildings, shops and interesting streets to explore.

Further details
Bars and Restaurants. As you explore the narrow streets of Iznajar you will discover many bars offering welcome refreshments and tapas. There are also plenty of local restaurants with good local "Menu del dia" available from 7 euros, while those wishing to sample more diverse dishes need only travel 10 or 15 minutes to find some nice alternatives. There is a restaurant serving English food also in the village.
National Parks - Good walking can be found in Sierra Nevada (Granada), El Torcal (Antequera), and also more locally at Fuente de Cesna and Rute. Good horseriding is also available at nearby Salinas.

Booking notes
A 25% non-refundable deposit upon booking. Balance due 1 calendar month prior to arrival. A breakages deposit of 200 euros will be requested on arrival, and returned to you following the end of your stay.

House swap
House swap considered during school summer holiday. Sleeping 4 to 6. Any location considered, especially with access to sea or pool.

About the owner
As a family we moved to Spain some years ago, to embrace a different culture and allow our daughter ( then 4 years old ) to learn a second language in the best possible way. Since our return to the UK we have enjoyed being able to open our home to holidaymakers so that they might also experience the pleasures of real Spanish 'campo' living with the benefit of homely comforts.
