This wonderful and comfortable house has been lovingly restored within a quiet, private and enclosed walled garden full of roses, two lawns and exotic plants. The main house is on two levels. Two connected living rooms on the ground floor with a winter wood burning stove, three bedrooms and a bathroom on the 1st floor. The well equipped kitchen and dining room is adjoining the main house and has air-conditioning.
There are lots of terraces for eating and sitting outside depending on the time of day and shade from the sun! The 9 x 4m pool is fabulous. From the pool terrace and verdant lawns you can see to the top of the highest mountain Mulhacen at 3481m often covered in snow, and down into the valley 500m below. The Casita apartment has two bedrooms, a bathroom and a sitting room with a wood burning stove.

Changeover day
Saturday changeovers in high season and negotiable at other times.
| Bedrooms: | Main House: 1 large double bedroom, 1 double and 1 single. Casita apartment: 1 large double bedroom and 1 twin bedded room. Casita salon can be used to sleep 2 extra on sofa-bed. One cot and one other 'put you up' bed. |

Notes on accommodation
The house provides wonderful accommodation and is ideal for family and friends holidays and is suitable for both summer and winter rentals. The traditional construction allows the house to remain cool in the hottest months and cosy in winter. The house is well equipped and well kept and designed for relaxation and comfort.
Accessibility
Some rooms have low ceilings and some doors are low which is a characteristic of this type of rural house! Because of the location and topography it is not recommended for unsupervised or young children under 5.
Outside
The garden was established 35 years ago and contains thousands of roses and many fruit trees. The air is wonderfully scented on a warm spring morning with rose, jasmine and honeysuckle. The private 9 x 4m pool is on a level with the terrace but is not suitable for unsupervised children. This wonderful oasis is automatically irrigated by the snow-melt from the 11,500' high sierra. The water is carried down the mountainside in ancient moorish acequias which border the 2.5 acres of land above and below. Most years the snow remains on the top until the beginning of July. The house now takes its name from the small chapel on the land, which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary who manifested in front of three shepherd children in the village of Fatima in Portugal 1916.
Coast/Beach
Coast 40 minutes by road. Beachside restaurants (chiringuito's) dotted along coast.
Golf
Golf courses can be found at Motril 45 mins away and Granada 50 mins away.
Skiing
The Sierra Nevada ski resort is an 1 hour and 20 mins away providing one of the highest resorts and longest seasons in Europe.
Special interest holidays
Great access to many walking, mountain cycling, motorcycling and riding centres in the Alpujarras and the Sierra Nevada. The house is complete with guidebooks and maps, and local guides can take you on more ambitious walks.
Travel
Granada airport is the nearest airport, 55 mins by motorway and A roads. Malaga 1.75 hours and Almeria 2.5 hours journey by car. Car hire is readily available at all airports.
Distances
The local town Orgiva 15 mins, Granada 50 mins, beautiful whitewashed villages of Pampaneira, Bubion and Capillera are nearby with Pampaneira only 8 mins away by car.

This part of Spain is one of the few remaining areas where tapas are still served with drinks, free of charge and made famous by Chris Stewarts Book 'Driving Over Lemons'. You are surrounded by views of the stunning Sierra Nevada, capped with snow until late spring and February the ideal time for skiing. It is a paradise for walkers, with a wide variety of flora and fauna and many mapped paths. Locally one can trek by horseback or just walk to Greece or Portugal along the old pilgrim route. Moorish architecture is abundant and signs of a very ancient agriculture are written all over the mountain-sides. The most beautiful stretch of totally unspoiled coastline is a drive away to the east at the Cabo de Gata. Here it rarely rains and the beaches are stunning with clear blue waters perfect for diving or snorkeling. At Salobrena, at 40 minute drive away, one can eat freshly caught and barbecued sardines at the beach side restaurants. Granada is a legend in itself, quintessentially Spanish, both vibrant and ancient. The Alhambra is a must to visit. Because of limited tickets its essential to book in advance!
Booking notes
A non-returnable deposit of 30% is required as confirmation of booking with the balance due 6 weeks before arrival. A £200 returnable security deposit is required as part of the final payment which will be reimbursed one week after exit, subject to the house being left in good condition.
