Taray is a first floor apartment with a spacious balcony overlooking the communal pool and stunning golf course, with views to the sea about four miles away. It is very well equipped - just bring your toothbrush! Agave is a contemporary-styled duplex with stunning decor and high-quality fixtures and fittings. A large terrace and small garden allow you to eat al fresco whilst enjoying a glass of rioja and watching the golfers chip away at the bunkers on the 3rd Fairway!

Accommodation

Taray has two bedrooms (1 queen-sized double and 1 twin-bedded room) with large fitted wardrobes, and a double sofabed in the lounge, so it sleeps up to 6 people (though a maximum of 4 adults is recommended). There is satellite TV so there's no need to miss your favourite UK programmes, and there's a DVD and CD player too. The separate kitchen has all the appliances you would expect, including microwave, electric cooker and hob, coffee-maker, washing machine and clothes airer. There's also an iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner (not that you want to be concerned with any of that on your holidays!). Outside you'll find secure, reserved parking and a lockable cupboard for your golf clubs/beach gear so that you don't have to carry your clubs up to the apartment after your round of golf. There's a communal pool that never gets too crowded and the huge balcony is the perfect place to dine after the sun goes down - perhaps whilst enjoying a bottle of chilled white wine?

Agave is a stunning, and very contemporary duplex with two bedrooms (with huge fitted wardrobes and their own private balconies) and a fabulous bathroom (with bath and shower) upstairs; downstairs you'll find a large open-plan lounge/dining area, another bathroom (with shower) and a separate kitchen and utility area. The apartment sleeps up to 6 people (two double beds and another double sofabed in the lounge) but 4 adults maximum would be more comfortable, and afford more privacy. The kitchen has a microwave, electric cooker and hob, coffee-maker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside, the terrace and garden overlook the 3rd fairway and are a stone's throw from the large infinity-edged pool. There is an underground car parking space reserved for you, a lockable cupboard to store your beach gear or golf clubs, and a lift up to your front door. There's also a video-phone entry system. All linen (including pool towels) provided.

 

Notes on accommodation
Taray has air-conditioning in the living areas, and ceiling fans in the bedrooms whilst Agave is fully air-conditioned throughout (split-system - so also has central heating). Children are very welcome at both apartments, though the open staircase at Agave may make it slightly less suitable for very young children.

Accessibility
The ground floor of Agave is accessible for wheelchair users, as there are ramps and lifts to the entrance. Regretfully, Taray is not suitable for wheelchair users, with access being on the first floor, up one flight of steps.

Outside
There are beautiful landscaped gardens surrounding the properties and the communal pools never get too crowded.

Coast/Beach
It's about a 10 minute drive to the coast, at Vera Playa - here there are over 8km of blue-flag white sand beaches to choose from. Valle del Este has its own Beach Club, and runs a regular shuttle bus from the golf course for those who'd like to swim in the saltwater pool, or have a drink, snack or a full meal at the pizzeria or traditional restaurant. The Sailing Club offers a variety of watersports, from windsurfing to kitesurfing and scuba divers can choose from several operators.

Golf
Valle del Este golf course has been very carefully designed by Jose Canales and is one of Europe's best desert-style courses, being both attractive and challenging to play. The course is superbly integrated into the surrounding landscape and makes great use of indigenous vegetation. The tees are positioned on small raised platforms surrounded by volcanic rock and the fairways are wide and generous enough to be relatively forgiving. Most golfers conclude that it is 'by no means a walk in the park' but that, on a good day, par is realistic on all holes. As well as Valle del Este, you have several other 18-hole courses nearby - Marina de la Torre and Playa Macenas in Mojacar (10-15 mins away) or Desert Springs (about 25 mins away) as well as the dramatic 9 hole course at Cortijo Grande (about 20 minutes away).

Travel
Valle del Este is an extremely simple drive from Almeria airport - only 45 mins! You can join the motorway from the airport and leave it at Valle del Este. It's still easy from Alicante - about 2 hours, or from Murcia - about an hour, so you've plenty of choice! We recommend you hire a car from the airport - we can give you recommendations.

Distances
On site is a spa, beauty and fitness centre and a commercial centre with bank, bars, restaurants and a few shops. The nearest town is Vera - about a five minute drive away. It's a typically Spanish market town, beautifully preserved and restored, dating from the 16th century. Garrucha, a fishing port is under 10 minutes by car, Mojacar is a 10-15 minute drive, Sorbas (an interesting excursion) about 40 mins and Granada can be done in a day trip (around 2 hours)

Further details
There's a huge choice of nearby supermarkets under a 10 minute drive away and we are happy to recommend restaurants and places of interest if you get in touch.

Booking notes
A 50% deposit secures your booking and full payment should reach us at least a week before you travel. Damages: a returnable key deposit of 100 Euros (or equivalent in pounds) must be paid by the hirer on a separate cheque at the time of paying the final balance. Payment for any damage, breakages, or missing inventory items i.e. loss of key will be deducted from the damages deposit. The full deposit will be returned to the hirer within two weeks of departure if there are no missing items.
