This spacious cottage was built in 1996 on a spectacular site just 1km from San Pablo de Buceite, halfway between Gibraltar and Ronda. The white villages of Jimena and Gaucin are both about 15 mins away. The property overlooks the lush Guardiaro Valley with stunning views to the mountains beyond. Sotogrande and its beaches are 30 minutes away and the ancient town of Ronda just over 1 hour drive. Gibraltar airport is 45 minutes and Malaga 1 hour 30 mins. The property is very private. The swimming pool (8x4m) has steps all the way across at the shallow end and is right beside the terrace.

Changeover day
Saturdays. Arrival after 4pm, departure by 10am.

Notes on accommodation
Air conditioning/heati exchange units are installed in both bedrooms.
The large bedrooms and high ceilinged sitting room makes this a lovely comfortable property in the heat of summer. The bedrooms are large and airy and have mosquito nets on the windows.
Accessibility
There are no steps in the house or garden making this a very suitable property for both small children and the elderly.
Outside
The property is well set back from the road, up its own drive, and there is a fenced garden of about half an acre. It is not overlooked in any way. The property stands in 6 acres of pasture. There is a covered terrace, sun patio, swimming pool and permanent, brick built barbecue.
Coast/Beach
The beaches at Sotogrande are a 30 minute drive. The white sand and kite surfing beaches of Tarifa are an hour.
Golf
Golf is available at a number of courses around Sotogrande (30 minutes).
Special interest holidays
This is a very popular area for spectacular walks and we can recommend a local guide who will help plan route and arrange overnight stays if needed. Birdwatching is also very popular and a local professional will arrange days out. Book before you come. This valley has spectacular bird migrations and wild flowers in the spring.
Travel
Gibraltar airport is 45 minutes. Malaga and Jerez airports are 1 hour 30 minutes and Seville 2 hours. Car hire is essential. B.A. & Easyjet fly from Gatwick to Gibraltar, Monarch flies from Luton to Gibraltar. There are many charter flights into Malaga.

Further details
San Pablo was built a little over 100 years ago and has an excellent selection of shops and bars, though the nightlife is distinctly limited! It has lovely wide streets with lots of parking and the whole village is surrounded by orange groves. There is a full supermarket which provides everything you would need. This property provides a very comfortable base from which to enjoy walking, riding, birdwatching, wild flowers, sightseeing or just relaxing with a long cold drink beside the pool.

Dates will be held while you fix the flights. Upon receipt of your completed booking form and a deposit of 30% your booking will be confirmed. Full payment is required 8 weeks before the date of arrival.

It's spacious, extremely comfortable and very well equipped. We loved our week there, accompanied by the nesting swallows and occasional visiting eagle. The views are stunning, the pool inviting, and Sue has provided everything you could possibly need for a fabulous holiday (including the weather in our case). About the owner
We moved out here in 1987 in order to run residential natural history holidays which we have done until retirement a couple of years ago. We are now starting to relocate to the UK and this is the first time that this property has been available to rent during the summer. The house and its spectacular location has proved very popular with like-minded people who choose to spend their holidays in a quiet secluded area and enjoy the birds, flowers, walks and wonderful natural history that still exist in this corner of Europe.
