The apartment is situated in directly on the canal entrance to the Thomas Maestre Marina, having wonderful views of the Mediterranean and the many yachts and boats as they pass by. Eventually there will be a deep sea marina, which will attract cruise ships as well as other craft. The apartment is fully equipped and has an extra large balcony (over 20ft) overlooking the Mediterranean. It is a two minute walk to the nearest beach and 5 minutes by car to a 9 hole pitch and putt/driving range. (Appx 20 euros for 9 holes inc. club hire).

Other: Outdoors - large balcony with furniture, parking, residents only pool, washing line, patio furniture, parasols.

Coast/Beach
There are several beaches close to the apartment, both the Mar Menor and Mediterranean. The nearest is a two minute walk away to the Mediterranean. In the summer, inflatables are provided at two Mar Menor beaches, 10 and 15 minutes walk away.

Golf
Veneziola Golf is 5 minutes by car from the apartment (Appx 20 euros for 9 holes inc club hire). La Manga Golf Club is about a 30 minute drive from the complex and various other golf courses are located around the Mar Menor within one hours drive.

Travel
The nearest airports are Murcia and Alicante which are 40 and 90 minutes drive away. Airport transfers and taxis are available from the area although a car is useful for exploring if desired.

Distances
La Manga is a 'strip' with places of interest spread out along it. Cabo de Palos is a popular old fishing village with harbour, lighthouse and market on Sunday. Cartagena is the nearest town, about 30 minutes drive away and has a recently developed shopping centre on the outskirts and international shopping at the centre along with archaeological sites and buildings of interest and a fascinating port. Murcia, the capital of the region is about a 50 minute drive and has a cathedral.

La Manga is situated in the Costa Calida (Warm Coast) in an area that has one of the most moderate climates in Europe, with on average 320 days of sunshine a year. Average temperature (24 hours) in Spring is 14-19 °C (58-66 °F ), Summer 22-26 °C (71-78 °F ), Autumn 16-23 °C (60-74 °F ) and Winter 12-13 °C (54-56 °F ). "The Strip" as it is known, is approx. 22 kms long, and separates the Mar Menor from the Mediterranean Sea. There are beaches stretching the whole length of the strip. There is something for all age groups in the area and yet it is not a package resort, catering for Spanish holidaymakers and people who own or rent property in the area. The warm shallow waters of the Mar Menor make this a paradise for those keen on watersports of all descriptions. It is known as a fantastic natural swimming pool with temperatures on average 5 degrees higher than the Mediterranean, sometimes as high as 27 or 30 degrees in summer. Winter temperatures are cooler, but swimming on New Years day has been known! The waters have a high saline and mineral content and are recognised as being therapeutic particularly for the treatment of rheumatism, arthritis etc. People can be regularly seen gathering the The Black Mud on Abity Beach, 10mins walk from the apartment and covering their bodies in it as 'open air mud therapy'. Several hotels offer Mud Therapy and Thalassotherapy Services. The Hotel Cavanna and Entremares are two. For nightlife, there is a bar 2 minutes from the apartment, with a Trattoria just a short walk away and a varied selection at the marina. La Manga has varied and lively nightlife. It begins in Cabo de Palos, which disguises itself as a quiet fishing village by day but has a busier atmosphere by night, with some bars staying open until the early hours in peak season. This is also true of the area known as 'Zocos' further down the strip which also offers a craft market in peak season. In between there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars.
