Very comfortable luxury villa with private pool in private development of detached houses. Views onto ancient Moorish Castle and sea bay and village of Salobrena. Communal area is nearby and offers free use of tennis court and large pool as well as table tennis and play area for children. Excellent location for visiting the Alhambra in Granada, the Alpujarras and the largest caves in Europe in Nerja. Wonderful for walking in the mountains as well as possibility for local golf and visiting nearby beaches. Unspoilt Andalucian character in local village.

Changeover day
Changeover days are Saturdays. Rental runs from Saturday to Saturday unless out of season and by arrangement.

Notes on accommodation
The property is very child friendly as the inside of the villa is all on one level. Many toys and games are provided to keep children busy and entertained, -inside and out.
A large covered over pergola is available outside by the pool, to offer shade and to offer a chance to eat outside very comfortably. Plenty of comfortable deckchairs are available by the pool.
Accessibility
Regrettably the property would not be suitable for wheelchair access.
Outside
The pool is private, with a large patio area around it for sun loungers and several tables and chairs are situated around pool area. The pool house has a large fridge/freezer in it for outside dining. There are many colourful local plants in the garden as well as many typically Andalucian pots scattered about the property and by the pool side. The pool is a very comfortable size and for anyone requiring a massive work -out, there is free use of the communal pool, a 4 minute stroll from the villa. Tennis court also there and play area for children and table tennis. Gated access with security card for communal area.
All outdoor furniture is of high standard and gas BBQ is by pool side.
Shower also by poolside.
Coast/Beach
It takes about 15 minutes to drive to the nearest beach, which is Salobrena. One can see the beach from the Villa. There are many restaurants and bars along the beach front and small gift shops.
Golf
The local golf course is a 15 minute drive from villa. Located by the sea and has superb views onto the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. There are many other golf courses in the area, about a 1 hour drive both directions on the coast. Almerimar, near Almeria or several on the way to Malaga as well as the Championship course Campo de Golf de Malaga.
Skiing
The ski Resort of Sol Y Nieve, near Granada , is about 100 km from the villa and takes about 1h 15 mins to drive.
Excellent and very high Championship runs of great variety.
Travel
The nearest airports are Granada, 68 km (about 45 mins drive) and Malaga, 112 km (1.h 15 mins drive)
Both drives are now mostly on Motorway and every year being improved with curves taken out through bridges.
Almeria is 135 km and 1h 30 mins drive.
Distances
Salobrena is the nearest village and it takes 15 mins to get there. Motril and Almunecar are the nearest bigger towns, about 25 mins to drive to. Nerja takes 30 mins to drive to.
Marina del Este is a lovely small Marina, near La Herradura, about 35 mins drive. Granada offers the wonderful historic Alhambra. About 35 mins drive. The Alpujarras (the old villages) are about a 45 min drive from the villa.
Further details
Salobrena is located on the Costa Tropical. The climate is mild almost all year, especially in the day time.The heat coming across from Africa is trapped by the mountain range in Granada . Local crops are tropical fruits and in the past, sugar cane. There are many historic excavations going on of Roman Ruins and there is a rich Arabic history in the area. See the Alhambra. The largest caves in Europe are in Nerja. Often Concerts are given there, which is quite spectacular. The Mountain range behind Salobrena is dramatic, very high ,with peaks of snow almost all year and beautiful and unspoilt.
There is riding, windsurfing, hang gliding and waterskiing in the area, as well as diving at Marina del Este..
Booking notes
Reservations for rental of the villa require a 30% deposit to secure specific dates. The remainder to be paid 6 weeks before arrival. Security deposit to be arranged with owner.
Guest comments
I have had many "come-backs" Some guests have returned 6 times as there is so much to do and see in the area and they have been very comfortable in the villa. Visitors book in Villa with very positive comments and feedback.
