Changeover day
The changeover day is Saturday, but this can be flexible out of high season. Unless other arrangements have been made with the owner the apartment is available from 4pm on your arrival day and must be vacated by 10am on your day of departure.

Accommodation

Notes on accommodation
Smoking isn't permitted in the apartment, but please feel free to smoke on the balcony. Electric radiator, gas heater and two fans are provided. Private airport transfers can be arranged for 55 – 65 euros each way. Grocery packs can be ordered. Twin centre holiday available: We also have a beautiful little house in the mountain village of Competa - please enquire for further details (transfers between Nerja and Competa can be arranged).

Amenities/Facilities provided

Accessibility
Upon entering the main gate there are 4 or 5 steps down to the garden/pool area. Once inside the main building there are 4 or 5 steps up to the lift, then the lift can be taken to the third floor where the apartment is situated. The apartment is a level walk to the Balcon de Europa, Nerja's centre.

Outside
The large corner balcony is a great place to share a bottle (or two!) of wine and watch the world go by. From one side there is a side sea view, and from the other side a view of the Sierra Almijara mountains, Nerja's stunning backdrop. A table and four chairs are provided, as well as two reclining beach chairs. Facing west, the balcony gets the sun from around noon till sunset. It's equipped with an awning should you prefer shade. The secluded communal pool (open Easter - Oct) and grassy sunbathing area overlook the breathtakingly beautiful Carabeo beach directly below, with views extending over the Med.

Coast/Beach
Pretty Carabeo beach is directly below the apartment building, accessed via a walkway set in the side of the cliff. Nerjas longest beach, the much celebrated Playa Burriana, is a further 5 mins walk. Sampling the fresh sardines and a jug of sangria at one of the beachside restaurants here is not to be missed. All of Nerja's other beaches are also within easy walking distance of the apartment.

Golf
Baviera Golf is a 15 min drive along the motorway towards Malaga, in Caleta de Vélez. Añoreta Golf, in Rincón de la Victoria, is a further 15 mins.

Skiing
Skiing and snowboarding can be found in the Sierra Nevada, near Granada (approx 1 and a half hours away by car).

Travel
Malaga airport is a 45 minute drive away. We can arrange private airport transfers for 55€ - 65€ each way. Alternatively we can arrange car hire, and the car can be picked up and dropped of either at the airport or in Nerja. Due to the apartment's great central location a car isn't needed for getting around Nerja, however it may useful if you plan to visit other towns and places of interest.

Distances
The city of Granada, with its Moorish architecture, beautiful plazas and the wonderful Alhambra, is little over an hours drive from Nerja. Seville, Ronda and Malaga are also of great interest and easily do-able as day trips. Just a few miles inland from Nerja you'll find numerous white-washed villages which are a delight to explore.Walkers and nature lovers will also love exploring the Sierra Nevada mountains on foot. Several routes begin at the caves at Maro, 5km from Nerja.

Further details
Immediately inland from Nerja rises the Sierra Almijara mountain range whose highest peaks at around 2000m mark the border of the Malaga and Granada provinces. These mountains, mostly designated as national parks, can be explored on foot. There are many established routes and the caves at Maro (5km from Nerja) provide a convenient starting point for some popular walks. The caves themselves are a 'must see' too. Horse-riding, mountain biking, guided walks, scuba diving, snorkelling and Spanish lessons are all available locally. A visit Nerja's donkey sanctuary is also a nice way to pass an hour or so, and their 'adopt a donkey' scheme makes for a unique gift for those back home, particularly kids.

Booking notes
A £100 deposit is required to secure the booking, with the balance being due 6 weeks prior to arrival. A £100 key / security deposit is also taken at this time. This is refunded when the keys are returned to the owner.
