Changeover day is Saturday during peak season otherwise by arrangement. The villa is available for short stays off season.
We provide excellent discounts for long-term rentals off season. Also when Villa and studio are rented together.

Changeover day
Saturday is the changeover day in July and August. At other times the changeover day is flexible. Studio change over is flexible all year.

Villa Majones (3 bedrooms, sleeps 6)

All bedrooms have great views and wonderful natural light. The master bedroom has a king size bed with orthopaedic mattress. The double bedrooms 2 and 3 have twin beds with firm and comfortable mattresses. All rooms have wardrobes, night tables and lamps. The fitted kitchen has a cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine, pots and pans, hand vacuum cleaner, and plenty of utensils. You may want to breakfast on the sun terrace, facing the pool and mountains, and have your evening meal in the fantastic river terraces. You will find a BBQ and tables, chairs and sun loungers in both terraces and the washing line, among olive trees. Alternatively, the sitting room which leads into the river terraces is extremely comfortable with a wood burning stove, 2 sofas and 1 big armchair, music equipment, Satellite TV, etc. While the dining room is equipped with table and 6 chairs, large dining cabinet with plenty of books, candles and games. The 9x5 meters roman style pool is fully equipped.

Studio Majones (Sleeps 2)

The studio, totally independent of the villa (60m away), is an annex to the owners' Valencian farmhouse. It has its own private entrance facing a lovely olive and almond field, and is centrally heated. It has one bedroom with two single beds that are designed to combine into a double bed. If required a fold-up bed can be made available. The studio is equipped with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, night tables and lamps, as well as Satellite TV. The fitted kitchen has a cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, pots, pans and utensils. The bathroom has a shower, WC, and wash-hand basin. A private sun patio is available for the exclusive use of the studio guests. It is equipped with table, chairs, sun loungers and BBQ. It enjoys unrivalled views of Safor Mountain which at 3300 feet is the highest mountain in the area. The setting allows you to experience nature at first hand, while being near Blue Flag beaches and towns like Gandia, Denia, Valencia and Benidorm for daytime and evening fun.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is equipped with portable water evaporative air coolers/fans with mosquito nets in all windows. Being 300 meters above sea level, you, like most of our guests, will probably find that the mountain location provides soothing breezes even on the hottest days and nights. So leaving windows opened, you can sleep quite comfortably to the soothing sounds of the River Serpis. In our experience, the cooling equipment is hardly ever used. For those guests wishing to rent during the off season, a large log burning stove is provided in the dining/lounge area. And there is plenty of seasoned wood. The rest of the villa can be heated using portable gas heaters. We can also provide an outside heater so that the covered terrace can be enjoyed throughout the year. The villa is child-friendy has lockable gates that contain children to the immediate villa area. The swimming pool is accessible via a lockable gate. It is set among fruit, almond & olive trees enjoying a great mountain breeze.

Accessibility
The villa and the studio are on one level and are suitable for people with mobility problems, and can be easily accessed by wheelchair users. You'll find lots of places to sit, relax and take in the breathtaking surroundings. While all beaches have some wheelchair access, Oliva's Blue Flag sand dunes beach offers access all the way to the water and have toilets and changing rooms by the sea, etc. Great for children as well. Being a bay, the water is very warm and safe from strong waves.

Outside
Private swimming pool (9m x 5m) is for sole use of villa guests. The whole place is an amazing wild garden of spectacular rugged beauty, with plenty of places for you to be and enjoy, walking, cycling, driving around or just sitting and being. Villalonga, a typical agricultural town is within easy reach and has several bars and restaurants. The historical Ducal city of Gandia is 12 kms away and is very enjoyable to visit, be it for a walk on the tree lined promenade, shopping or to attend a local concert, visit a good restaurant or enjoy its vibrant night life. Just a short distance away from Gandia you find yourself in Gandia’s Marina, with its prize winning blue flag beaches. Oliva town, 12 kms away, has a colourful Friday market. Oliva’s blue flag beach has good restaurants serving local cuisine, fish and great pizzas. There are also safari and water parks, caves, to visit, as well as the Oceanographic in the exciting city of Valencia, which this year host's the American's Cup.

Coast/Beach
A 25 minute drive takes you to the golden sandy beaches of Gandia or Oliva. Both beaches have been awarded blue flag status and are considered to be amonst the best in Spain. Gandia beach has a number of excellent restaurants, bars and discos. You can dance the night away at Ali Baba 'chiringuito' in Oliva's sand dunes. Further afield there are the lively beach resorts of Denia, Javea and Calpe. For those seeking more excitement Benidorm and Alicante are within an hours drive from Oliva.

Golf
For Golf enthusiasts, the well known Oliva Nova Golf, which was designed by Seve Ballesteros, is within easy reach. Also within easy reach are the La Sella (Denia) and Javea golf courses as well as the El Sela gold course (south of Valencia).

Special interest holidays
For those of you wanting to take even more advantage of the tranquil and beautiful settings, biodynamic massage, creative drawing, life and relationship coaching, as well as relaxation sessions, by highly experienced practioners, can be provided by request. We can offer guided tours to places reachable only by a 4x4 vehicle, packed lunches can be provided, if required. Travel
Valencia airport is about one hours drive, Alicante airport is approximately an hour and a half away. Car hire is essential due to the villa's rural location.

Distances
A local bar by the river is 7 minutes drive away. Villalonga town, about 10/12 minutes drive from the villa. Potries and Ador, 5 minutes from Villalonga, Gandia and Olivia are approximately 25 minutes drive. The beautiful and exciting city of Valencia can be reached in a little over one hour by car. A regular train service from Gandia to Valencia runs every 20 minutes and the journey takes 50 minutes. Along its journey to Valencia the train journey runs past citrus groves and rice fields.

Further details
Villalonga has a large supermarket, two street markets every week, several bars, restaurants, bakeries and a pharmacy. The town also has a medical centre and two banks. Gandia has a wide range of restaurants and bars. The nightlife is lively and varied. Gandia also has an interesting variety of shops. A wide range of leisure and sporting activities are available within easy reach. They include golf, diving, surfing (wind and kite), sailing, water skiing. Also available are mountain biking, climbing and quad biking. The villa is set in the spectacular La Safor Mountains which affords great opportunities for walking and cycling. We have, for your use, two excellent mountain bikes and two bikes that can be folded and taken in the car. There are a lot of Spanish festivity celebrations in the Valencia region. Gandia, Valencia, Oliva, Villalonga and the nearby towns, all have music and dancing, and special medieval street markets and processions. This provides you with the opportunity to get a taste of the local way of life, if you want to. Each town also has its own special festivities once a year. Villalonga celebrate its fiestas in October. It is three days of non-stop partying. All shops close down, people who are working in another town, leave their jobs for special days. The first day of the festivities is organised by everyone who is 18 years old that year. The thirty year olds are in charge of second day, while the 50 year olds close the festivities. It is possible to get tickets to attend the communal meal celebrations in the middle of the paseo, before the dancing starts. If you are interested in knowing what festivities are available when you come over, please let us and we can also get tickets for you if you are interested. Alternatively, you can enjoy the fantastic fire works from the river terrace.
