Roquetas de Mar is located 30/40 minutes from Almeria airport (approx 45 euros by taxi). It's a popular resort set against a beautiful mountain backdrop, the sunniest area of southern Spain. The property is situated within a Moorish style very pretty complex with a reception office, water garden and shared pool. It has a private roof terrace with a shower which is not overlooked. There are many restaurants selling typical Spanish food, tapas bars, shops, banks and beach close by. The beach is wide and long, never crowded and there is a beautiful promenade to walk. Many of the local hotels have evening entertainment and they welcome visitors. Granada and the Alhambra Palace are a straight forward 2 hour drive or you can visit with a local tour company. The beautiful Capo de Gata national park is 1 hour drive. However if you just wish to stay in the resort a car not essential, everything you need is on your doorstep. Suitable for winter holidays usually nice sunny days, rarely rains.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Long winter lets (3 weeks or more) £125 a week. The price includes the final clean, electricity and water. Except for the 2 air conditioning/heating units which are operated by means of a £1 coin meter. You will need to take adequate £1 coins with you
Changeover day
You can arrive and depart on any day and stay for any number of days. Additional days are charged pro rata. Arrival and departure times are dependent on whether there is a changeover. If no one arriving on the day you go you can leave at a time to suit.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment overlooks the large pool area, it is on the first floor, there is an apartment beneath you but nobody above. the 2 air conditioning units also provide heating for the winter evenings. The reception staff are very helpful and will arrange taxis, hire cars etc (closed November - Easter appprox).

Accessibility
The resort of Roquetas de Mar is totally flat. The apartment is up one flight of stairs, with a further flight to the roof terrace.
Outside
The apartment is set within a well maintained pretty complex with a water garden and large communal pool set in a grassed area, with toilets and showers available. The large roof terrace is equipped with sunbeds, chairs, parasols and a table, plus a shower, you have the sun on it all day and when it's clear you can see the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The front terrace has a table and chairs.
Coast/Beach
The beach is a 5 min walk, it stretches for miles and there are beach bars every few hundred yards, it is never crowded. You can hire sunbeds and parasols. There is also a lovely flat promenade along the whole length.
Golf
The golf course in Roquetas de Mar is a 3 min. drive, there is a further golf course at Envia 15 min drive and another in Almerimar 25 mins.
Travel
The nearest airport is Almeria, Ryanair and Easyjet fly there from Stansted, Easy jet from Gatwick, Jet 2 and Monach. Approx. 30 min drive to the apartment, cars can be hired at the airport, a taxi will cost about 45 euros, or bus to Almeria bus station and change. Almeria Airport is very small and taxis are plentiful directly outside arrivals. Malaga and Murcia airport are both about a 2-3 hour drive. Once in the resort you do not need a car everything is within easy walking distance.
Distances
Almeria City is interesting to visit and the old Alcazaba is free to enter. A bus there costs a few euros, there are lots of lovely shops. Granada 2 1/2 hours drive, a local tour operator does trips to Granada to the Alhambra Palace and other places of interest.
Further details
In the resort there are many bars and restaurants, you can hire cycles, quad bikes and cars. There is a land train and horse drawn carriage rides. A large modern shopping mall a short bus or taxi ride away with ten pin bowling and lots of lovely shops. The apartment has supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, interesting local shops all within a 5 min walk. There is a water park and an aquarium a short taxi ride away.

A deposit of £75 per week is payable at the time of booking with the balance due 8 weeks before your departure date. Please wait for confirmation that the dates you require are still available before booking flights.
