The property is set within a small development of villas on a hillside, allowing stunning views over open countryside. Only a short walk from the village centre, where life revolves around the village square with its restaurants and small bars. Built by a local company the property retains its Spanish charm and features marble floors and staircases. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances and the lounge area features a LCD TV with Sky. The 3 bathrooms (1 en-suite) all have showers. Outside, the property has a large patio area and 6-seater spa pool. The garden is mainly laid to tiles and brick with climbing plants and is well lit in the evening, as is the newly fitted swimming pool complete with shower. The master bedroom also has its own private terrace giving stunning views over open countryside.

Notes on accommodation
The property is heated by wall mounted electric heaters if required. The accommodation is suitable for children, however, the pool has open access from the patio area.
Accessibility
The property has two small but narrow steps up to the main entrance.The bedroom on the ground floor is ideal for those with mobility problems and has a bathroom directly next to it.The villa is situated on a hill , to walk into town or to the shops this has to be negotiated and may cause difficulty for those with mobility problems.
Outside
Brand new for 2009 is our swimming pool. The gardens have also been hard landscaped to brick and tile, with climbing plants and extra lighting for evening use. The property has a large patio area, with 6 seater spa pool/hot tub. There are a selection of tables/chairs alongside the newly installed large stone bbq. There is a selection of sunbeds and a large parasol to give shade if needed. There are also a small selection of beach chairs and parasol included. The master bedroom terrace has a table and chairs and reclining chairs. There is also a single integral garage with remote controlled access. The garden is mainly laid to tile and brick with climbing plants and pots. The pool area is in the sun pretty much all day in high season, the area has been given privacy by extending the wall height but still retains its stunning views.
Coast/Beach
Barossa beach is a 25 minutes drive away and is a vast expanse of golden sand with shops and restaurants on the beachfront. It is child friendly and very clean. The town of Conil and its miles of sandy beach is some 30 mins drive away. Barbate and El Palmar beaches are a similar distance away and are smaller with less facilities but still excellent for kids. Tarifa and its watersports is 30-40 mins drive.
Golf
There are several golf courses nearby, Montemedio (20 mins) is an established course with hotel/club attached. Benalup (20 mins) is a 4* complex and Sancti Petri is another 4/5 * complex 30 mins away. These are the closest courses.
Travel
Jerez airport (served by Ryanair) is 25 minutes from the property. Malaga is approximately 2 hours drive. Seville and Gibraltar airports are approximately 1 hour drive. Car hire is recommended.
Distances
Jerez, the sherry capital, is 30 mins drive as is Cadiz the nearest city. Montemedio with its internationally renowned equestrian events is 20 mins drive. Seville one of the most beautiful Spanish cities is 1 hour drive as is Gibraltar a major tourist attraction. Tarifa a mecca for windsurfers and kite surfers is 30 mins drive away. Major shopping malls are at San Fernando some 30 mins drive away.
Further details
Medina in itself is steeped in history and is reported to be the oldest town/village in Spain. There is a local supermarket, garage and a couple of small bars all within a 5 minute walk, along with the historic church. Other beautiful whitewashed villages (pueblo blancos) e.g. Vejer are less than 20 mins drive away.An enclosed and supervised children's play area is close by and internet access is available within a 3 min walk at a local bar. Medina has a public swimming baths and a selection of small shops which cater for most needs and an excellent open market each day selling meat, fish and fruit/veg. Sherry tours are available in Jerez, whale/dolphin watching is available at Tarifa. Morocco is a ferry ride away from Tarifa and Gibraltar the UK bastion with its world famous rock and monkeys is an hour away. Off road driving and quad biking is available at Montemedio, along with horse riding/trekking. The area is also highly significant for bird watchers with breeds of eagle nesting at Vejer. Good eating places are abundantly available both at beach locations and in the towns and villages. Full details of these are held at the property.
An insight into how horsemen are trained for bullfighting and both Spanish and country dressage are on show less than 10 mins from the villa.The new supermarket less than 5 mins away caters for your every need and supplies both local and international food. There is also a small arcade of local shops above offering cafe's ,cooked chicken, clothing ,banks and a small bar.A new reataurant situated by the church less than 5 mins away offers fantastic international cuisine and fine wines and the best views on offer.The church itself can be visited with an accessible bell tower giving fantastic views over the local area.
Booking notes
Bookings can be taken for week/s duration but also for longer stays (where available). Short breaks/long weekends can also be catered for. Weeks normally run from Tuesday to Tuesday but contact us direct to discuss alternative dates. A 20% deposit is required upon booking and full payment not less than 60 days prior to departure. A CD presentation and info pack is available upon request setting out all terms and conditions.A small surcharge will be made for full occupancy of the villa.

About the owner
The villa is owned by three friends all from the Gloucestershire area.We met through work and playing both rugby and cricket , we all have families and our children are of similar ages.
The property was originally purchased after consuming a rather large amount of alcohol, it has been an adventure with both good and bad stories to tell to get to where we are now but we are pleased with our achievement.
We have tried to make a home from home feel in the villa and will always welcome new ideas from our clients to improve our service.
Our main aim is to offer the personal touch and to have our clients give us positive feedback on their return from holiday.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
As previously stated the villa was purchased off-plan whilst half cut at a party ( not advice that Phil+Kirsty would give!) After plenty of sleepless nights we visited Medina and immediately realised we hadn't been as foolish as we thought.We were taken in by the scenery,the friendly locals , the food (and wine) and the charm of the village. After visiting the local beaches we realised that this area of Spain was not only stunning but pretty much undiscovered by the English!!
No Irish bars,fish and chips,or John Smith's bitter in the "Lord John" here ! Just beautiful scenery and laid back lifestyle...........perfect.
Unique benefits of the property
The villa is located on the edge of the village so giving the views, but is walking distance from the village centre and amenities.
We have tried to make a home from home with some added luxury like the hot-tub , not something you'd automatically think of for Spain, but it's been a real hit with our clients so far.
Medina is ideally located to get out and explore the Costa de la Luz and only 30 mins from Jerez airport .There are an abundance of interesting places to visit most well within an hour or two of the villa.
And when you return from your travels , its back to feet up and watch TV or a soak in the tub with a glass of wine or for us blokes a BBQ ! That's the benefit of a villa holiday......you choose.
