Accessibility
The property is situated on the first floor which includes a small number of steps, however, it would not be suitable for wheelchair users.

Outside
The terrace from which there are distant sea views has an attractive table and 6 chairs. The very large rooftop solarium above has mountain and sea views. This area is very private, 2 sun loungers are provided.

Coast/Beach
Just more than 5 mins drive to the beaches and centre of Peniscola and maybe 10 mins drive to Benicarlo's beaches and center. The beaches are very clean and some have blue flag status, most parts are very shallow and suitable for children. And of course the main reason most people visit Peniscola is for the Templar Castle and Old town - pretty by day and a spectacular site in the evening either to look at or to sit at the many small bars and restaurants.

Golf
Within 20 mins drive is the prestigious "Golf Panoramica" designed by Bernard Langher. The course is accessed by driving through orange groves - the reason that this area is named "the coast of orange blossom". There will very soon be 2 golf courses in Peniscola itself.

Skiing
Skiing is available in Teruel - a couple of hours drive.

Travel
The nearest airport is Reus - 1hr 10mins by car, Ryanair and other airlines provide very cheap fares often only 1p each way. The next nearest airport is Valencia 1hr 20 mins by car. Barcelona is 1hr 45 mins. Renfe (train) to Benicarlo/Peniscola station from each airport.

Distances
Peniscola beaches and town nearby, Benicarlo beaches and town less than 10 mins drive, Vinaros 20 mins drive. Alcossebre pretty town with beaches 20mins drive. Or inland - Cervera del Maestre (very pretty) 20 mins drive, or 25 mins to San Mateo. Castellon the nearest big town is 50 mins drive. La Senia a reservoir with water sports and nice walks and churches, very pretty approx 30mins drive. Morella is also very popular with visitors and very pretty 40 mins drive.

Further details
The castle (old town) has a museum of interest and it is lovely to sit looking at the port from the castle (there is a boat trip) or to visit the little shops and sit with a glass of wine or a beer watching the world go by and gazing out to sea. This is an area of numerous spectacular firework displays and fiestas, we celebrate everything from the prawn to the artichoke, light fires on the beach and make a wish whilst you jump over them, watch people being chased into the sea by bulls, eat BBQ food in the streets, walk up mountains for a free paella provided by the town hall, and wear fancy dress whenever possible! End of February for the Benicarlo Artichoke festival, early March for the Almond Blossom and the Benicarlo fiesta of Fallas, in May for the Orange Blossom (the smell is incredible); lots of fiestas during the summer and the major Peniscola fiesta of Moors and Christians in September.

Booking notes
A 30% (non returnable) deposit is required to reserve the apartment. The balance is due 45 days before the holiday. With this balance should be a returnable breakages deposit of 100 GBP/€, if damages come to more than this amount the balance is due immediately. When the apartment is checked if there are no damages then the money will be returned to your account within 7 days. On leaving choose to clean or not (advise us by text message), if no, just leave 25 € on the table for the cleaner.
