This is a house for those looking for complete tranquility. Its location at the end of a rocky promontory with spectacular mountain gorges on two sides means that there are no passers-by. The house is newly built and furnished to the highest standards and benefits from its own 12m solar power heated swimming pool (15 June- 1 September only) in the walled garden as well as over 20,000 square metres of grounds. The house has been designed and built to be as enviromentally sustainable as possible from the choice of building materials and the use of solar energy to the recycling of water for non-drinking purposes. 2 nearby mountain villages of Fleix and Benimaurell are within walking distance and Denia and its beaches are about 35 minutes drive.

Changeover day
Changeover day during June, July, August and September is Saturday. Otherwise flexible. Departure by 10 am and arrivals no earlier than 4pm.

Other: There are a number of outdoor terraces and eating areas. The garden has a barbecue and traditional wood-fired oven.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels (for indoor use only) and linen included. The property is cleaned and the towels and linen changed once a week on Saturday.

 

Notes on accommodation
The house has under-floor heating and double glazing throughout. It has been designed with a view to not requiring air conditioning by maximising insulation and use of air currents. The house is not recommended for very young children.

Accessibility
The house has a number of internal steps and is not suitable for those with mobility problems.

Outside
The house has a 12m solar-power heated swimming pool (15 June - 1 September only). It is surrounded by a large area of decking with sun loungers etc. Elsewhere in the enclosed garden there is a barbecue area area which also has a traditional wood-fired oven. The house has another 20,000 square metres of grounds.

Coast/Beach
Denia (35 mins drive) has 15km of sandy beaches and another 7km of coves and rocky beaches. There are also fine beaches at Javea (40 mins drive) and all the way up and down the coast.

Golf
There are a number of golf courses within 45 mins drive at Denia (La Sella), Javea and Oliva. A further half hour's drive away is the world-ranked championship course at El Saler (near Valencia).

Special interest holidays
If you are interested in Valencian regional cuisine, courses and demonstrations can be arranged to suit your needs. You can also order home-cooked local specialities for delivery to your door.

Travel
Valencia and Alicante airports are both approx. 1h 15mins away. A car is essential.

Further details
The area is a walker's paradise with a variety of marked paths to suit all abilities. Close to the house is a path made up of thousands of steps constructed centuries ago by the Moors and descending into the nearby gorge. Another alternative is to take the path up to the Caballo Verde ridge from which there are spectacular views into two valleys and towards the coast. The nearby Fontilles sanitorium, which was once a leper colony, is a fascinating place to explore on foot or on the back of a donkey, courtesy of a local business which arranges escorted rides into the surrounding countryside.
There are several restaurants nearby which can be incorporated into an exhilarating walk or the local cuisine can be sampled without venturing out by ordering from a list of dishes which will be delivered to your door by a local cookery expert, who also offers courses tailored to your own requirements.
