Montefrio is an historic white hill town in Granada Province, situated between Granada and Cordoba, which provides a wonderful base for visiting the many sites of the area. The town itself is of considerable interest with its narrow streets, houses and historic sites, but essentially remains a working Andalucian town. The roof terrace provides spectacular views over the town and surrounding countryside. The town of Montefrio was declared an area of “historic and artistic interest” in 1982 and provides an excellent base for visiting the area including the cities of Granada (40 mins) and Cordoba (60 mins). To the south of Granada are Spain’s highest mountains in the Sierra Nevada, now a centre for skiing, whilst Montefrio is on the edge of the beautiful Subbetica region with many interesting towns, including the regional centre of Priego de Cordoba. The Andalucian coast can be reached within two hours. The house itself is just off the main street running from the town centre.

Further details
The town itself provides all the amenities for self-catering, whilst the numerous café bars (most serving tapas) and restaurants provide inexpensive meals and serve regional dishes.
In the summer months the town has an open-air swimming pool with a poolside café bar.
The town is essentially Spanish, but there is a small British population that have settled and work in the community, and as a result British newspapers are available in the morning.
