Cortijo Joella is situated in the middle of its own 6000m2 olive grove with uninterrupted valley views. A mature grape vine leads you into the 'patio andalus' (enclosed courtyard) where you can sit and enjoy your meals contemplating the day. Traditionally restored, yet retaining many of its original features, your Cortijo offers a large seperate farmhouse kitchen with open fire, 4 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms 1 with a balcony offering stunning views over looking the courtyard, utility room with shower and toilet. During your holiday you could swim in the private pool, sunbathe, paint or walk. Perhaps you will visit the fantastic historical sites in the region. Cordoba, Malaga, Granada, Seville and the international ski resort at Sierra Nevada are all within easy driving distance. If you care to stay closer then the lake of Andalucia is a 10 minute drive where you can do a spot of fishing or hire canoes and pedaloes and take in the spectacular scenery.

Arrival and departure times are flexible, but are at the discretion of the owners. Long lets are welcome and negotiable if required.

Notes on accommodation
Cortijo Joella is accessed off the main road via a private man made lane surrounded by olive, fig and fruit trees. New for 2008 a first floor living space with french doors opening onto a balcony offering stunning views. The property is sympathetically restored with families in mind. Travel cots and highchairs are available and there is a fully functional kitchen and dining area. Accommodation is spacious and well laid out in traditional Cortijo style. Electricity, water and gas are included in the price. Please note Cortijo Joella has a no smoking policy inside the house. You will find a comprehensive welcome pack along with a brochure with local restaurants, places of interest, waterparks, skiing, golf courses and general information about the area at the house. Outside
Outdoor private pool and patio area are very safe, as both are able to be fully enclosed. Three outdoor terraces to choose from, as well as 6000m2 of land to wander in...pick an Olive tree to rest under! Excellent walking and wildlife and fantastic stargazing opportunities at night! There is a full sized outdoor table tennis table on one of the sun terraces or if you prefer a professional pool table in the games room.
Coast/Beach
The lake of Andalucia is just 10 minutes away by car, where you can rent pedaloes and canoes, learn to sail and windsurf, or perhaps spend an afternoon fishing or just relax by the beach. There is also a popular beachside restaurant which is open all year round. The Costa Del Sol, with it's numerous attractions is only a 50 minute drive away.
Golf
There is a brand new 18 hole golf course opened in Antequera (approx. 30 min. away), offering many challenging holes, at 30 euros a round, the views are magnificent! Further afield are the world famous golf courses on the Costa del Sol, and one at Granada at the snow covered Sierra Nevada. Both are an hour away. Antequera and Granada's green fees are considerably lower than the courses on the coast!
Skiing
A 90 minute drive north brings you to the Ski resort of Sol y Nieve which offers runs for beginners to even the most challenged skiers. Times and prices are available in our brochure at the house.
Travel
Malaga Airport 1 hour (Costa del Sol). Cordoba 1 Hour (Mezquita). Granada Airport 50 min (La Alhambra). Seville Airport 2 hours (La Giralda). Car hire is essential Hertz, Avis, Europa and a couple of local companies are available at the above airports.
Distances
5 minutes from the house is the local hamlet of "los juncares" with a shop serving the basic essentials. However the main village of Iznajar is a 10 minute drive offering a very good selection of bars, banks, restaurants and supermarkets, all the good ones (actually they are all good) are recommended in the brochure.
Further details
There is also a post office, Hospital, Dentist and Doctors. Iznajar is a typical Andalucian village, with its own fortress and church. Once a week on a Tuesday there is a market giving you the chance to buy clothes, food or that perfect holiday gift.

Bookings can be made by phone or email and can be secured with a non refundable deposit of 25% of total amount and balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to commencement of your holiday. A security deposit of £150 is required on arrival,this will be returned(providing no breakages or damage at checkout Weekly rate is inclusive of water, electricity and gas. Please note: The number of guests need to be confirmed at the time of booking. Change to original booking will incur a supplement.
