The house is situated at Fuentemar in the popular Las Buganvillas area of Garrucha and is close to a variety of restaurants, Spanish, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Argentinian and English, also several bars, shops, well stocked supermarkets and Vera Beach Club which has an indoor swimming pool and gym. This secure gated complex is centrally situated a short walk from Garrucha town and only 5 minutes walk from the uncrowded beaches of Vera Playa and Pueblo Laguna from where you can take a pleasant stroll along the promenade into Garrucha where there are many excellent fish restaurants. The house is in typical Spanish style and has a sunny front terrace and private roof solarium. The complex walkways are set around pretty gardens and lawns with 2 swimming pools and a children’s paddling pool, which are very clean and well maintained. There is a regular bus service just outside the complex which goes to Garrucha, Vera and Mojacar.

Notes on accommodation
Air-con/heating units and ceiling fans are fitted for added comfort. The aircon units are metered at minimum rate to cover basic cost of electricity only.
Outside
Sunny terrace to the front of the property with table, chairs and sunshade for al fresco dining. There are also two reclining chairs for relaxing in the sun. There are 2 swimming pools and children's pool within the grounds which have the added benefit of lifeguards on duty in high season.
Coast/Beach
The property benefits from some of the finest sandy blue flag beaches with lifeguards and are only a short 5 minutes walk away. There is a beach shop and restaurants along the seafront and to the right, the palm tree lined promenade makes a very pleasant 15 minute stroll into Garrucha town. To the left the beach stretches along the Vera Playa coast.
Golf
There are 4 golf courses within the area, including the world famous Desert Springs and my favourite Valle de Este with a drive time of 15 minutes to the furthest.
Travel
Nearest airport is Almeria at 85 kilometres and is 50 minutes drive. San Javier Airport is approx. 1 hour 30 mins. and Alicante Airport approx. 2 hours drive.
Distances
Garrucha town centre is less than 5 minutes drive and benefits from many fine restaurants especially fish as the town is still a small fishing port. There is a large market on the streets of Garrucha on a Friday. Vera Town centre is a 10 minute drive and again has a large market every Saturday.
The Vera water park is situated less than 5 minutes by car or there is an hourly bus service to most of the surrounding areas from a bus stop just outside.
Further details
There are many interesting places to visit, Mojacar Playa and Mojacar Pueblo are only a ten minute drive. Mini Hollywood where many spaghetti westerns are made is a half hour drive away in Tabernas. Local leisure activities also include golf, go-karting, microliting, scuba diving, sea & course fishing, cycling, quad biking, horse riding and various watersports. Vera AquaPark is only a five minute drive away and has 3 swimming pools, a wave machine, various chutes and slides, picnic areas and a children's play area.
Booking notes
We require a deposit of 20% to hold & confirm booking. Balance of payment due 8 weeks before arrival date, along with refundable damage deposit of £100 to cover for any damage caused or excessive cleaning required, which will be returned after our property managers have checked the property.

Recently been there to stay for 1 week, excellent location, close to the beach, restaurants, bars and shops. The apartment has lots of space with everything you need. There is also a wonderful sunny and spacious roof terrace ideal for sunbathing. Friendly residents within the complex and loved the use of the two pools on site. About the owner
I live in Maidenhead and work as an Office Manager for a film lighting company. I have a son and daughter and three grandchildren who keep me on my toes. I hope to retire within the next 5 years and intend to spend at least nine months of the year in Almeria. I am preparing myself by learning Spanish at the moment. I am looking forward to living in Spain and becoming a fosterer for the PAWS animal charity in Mojacar, who do a wonderful job of rescuing and re-homing animals in the area. I also intend to join a few of the many local expat clubs, so expect to have quite a busy and interesting retirement!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We looked at a few areas along the Spanish coast but as soon as we arrived in Almeria loved the feel of the place. Not as commercialised as other areas, lovely mountain drives with great scenery, roads which are a pleasure to drive on and not full of traffic, lots of unspoilt beaches and very easy to park, with no parking charges! Still has a very Spanish feel wth lots of Spanish fish restaurants and tapas bars as well as a variety of other nationality cuisines. Ideal for a relaxing holiday to really chill out.
Unique benefits of the property
The house is positioned quite centrally and is within easy walking distance of Garrucha and a short drive from Vera, Vera Playa and Mojacar. There is also a regular bus service from just outside for those without a car. There are also supermarkets, bars and restaurants, all within easy walking distance from the property so you don't have to worry about driving home. The complex has a good mixture of Spanish and British residents and is very friendly. We have met some lovely people there, both residents and holidaymakers. Our property managers are very friendly and helpful and meet all our guests on arrival at the house. They live locally and are always on hand should you need them.
