This pueblo-style villa is situated in a small, exclusive development on Chumbera Hill, Nerja 30 minutes drive east of Malaga. The property was acquired by its current owners in 2010 and is in excellent decorative order throughout. The spacious lounge boasts a large, sunny terrace with stunning views of the sea, mountains and Roman aqueduct. There are two good sized bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen/diner (microwave, freezer, dishwasher, wm etc) and a double aspect lounge with feature arches, satellite TV showing a full range of English channels, CD and radio. Sliding doors open onto a large, south easterly facing terrace with brick barbecue, and recliner chairs. The pool is less than 30 metres and has a shower, sunbeds and parasols. The award winning Burriana beach, with water sports, shops and restaurants, is 6 mins walk, Nerja town is about 15 mins walk. There is a bus stop within 50 metres of the property. Car parking is adjacent to the property.

Notes on accommodation
Electric oil filled radiators provided for winter use. Fans for summer use. Cots (approx 3 euro per night) and highchairs (approx 2.20 euro per night) can be arranged, payment for this is made locally.
Tap water at the villa is suitable for drinking.

Outside
Large sunny terrace with recliners, table, chairs and brick built barbecue with chimney. 2 small gardens to front and rear. Shared swimming pool within 30 yards. All of the ten properties are privately owned and maintained to a very high standard. The gardens and borders are filled with flowering shrubs, which are carefully tended. The design of the development with courtyards and fountains gives a very Spanish feel and provides absolute privacy for the owners and their guests. Parking is available next to the villa.
Coast/Beach
The award-winning Burriana Beach is 6 minutes walk with all its amenities e.g. diving, beach sports, boat trips and internet cafe. Many shops bars and restaurants. Showers, sun beds and pedalos available. Other beaches are also accessible. Depending on wind conditions, wind surfing, supping and kite surfing are all available. It is a lovely walk in the evening along the beach to the nearby town of Nerja with its wide variety of restaurant, shops and cafes.
Golf
Golf at Velez Malaga is under 20 minutes drive. Other courses of international standard are within striking distance for a day's playing.
Skiing
Skiing available in the Sierra Nevada during winter months, approx 1.5 hours away.
Special interest holidays
Walking and hiking in the Almijara National Park (can be accessed on foot from the villa).
Tennis - floodlit courts are available within walking distance of the villa. Racquets can be hired. There are also two paddle tennis courts.
Padi diving school - at Burriana Beach (5 mins from villa) offers diving lessons and trips as well as snorkelling safaris.

Horseriding and other adventure pursuits as well as excursions to places of interst throughout Andalucia are available and can be booked at the information centre in Nerja.

Malaga Airport with direct motorway links. Approx 30 minutes by car. Local bus within 50 yards, main bus route from town to airport and other towns.
Car Hire is easy and relatively cheap either from the Airport or from Nerja town.

Supermarket 5 mins walk. Beach 6 mins walk (5 mins going down and 7 coming back up!). Nerja town 15 mins walk. Nerja Caves/National Park 45 minute walk or 5 minute bus/car ride. Maro 45 minute walk. Frigiliana 10 minutes by car. Hypermarket, El Ingenio with designer shops, restaurants and cinema 15 mins by car. Malaga, 40 minutes by car. Granada and the Sierra Nevada - 1.5 hours by car. Seville - 2.5 hours by car. Cordoba - 2.5 hours by car. Gibraltar - 3.00 hours by car.
Further details
Nerja is an ideal holiday destination with something for everyone. With it's pretty winding streets and whitewashed houses. The main area of the town is the Balcon de Europe with bars and restaurants close by. Burriana beach with its many bars and restaurants is just a short walk away from the villa.
It is also an ideal base from which to explore Andalucia, both on foot and by car with fantastic drives along winding roads into the mountains and coastal paths reminiscent of the West coast of England.
The Sierra de Almijara rises to over 1800 metres, and this acts as a barrier to any northerly winds that occasionally affect much of the rest of Spain during the winter months. Rainfall is largely absent during the summer months, and with a regular afternoon sea breeze, the heat of inland Spain is seldom experienced. In fact, a survey suggests, that this part of the Costa del Sol experiences the best all-year-round weather in Europe.
Booking notes
£100 deposit per week is required to secure your booking and a returnable security deposit of £150 will be required along with the balance 6 weeks before departure. The security deposit will be refunded following return of the keys and confirmation that no loss or damage was caused to the property or it's contents on your return.

About the owner
Jane and Steve Langford live in Romsey, Hampshire UK and have recently acquired Casa Lester. "We love Spain and have enjoyed holidays in the Nerja area for over the last ten years, initially with our two children and recently as a couple and with friends. Five years ago we discovered Chumbera and since then we have always stayed there, as guests at the villas. Last year, we heard that Casa Lester would be 'on the market' and we were overjoyed! It is a very special place and we feel very privileged to be able to spend our time there. Our plans are to spend more and more of our time there as family and work commitments permit.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We adore Nerja for its typical Andalucian character and its size - large enough to have good restaurants but small enough to deter mass tourism. The Chumbera development is the perfect location to give absolute privacy whilst providing good and convenient access to beach, town and shops. The weather is wonderful and we have had glorious days - even in the winter months!
We enjoy 'chilling out', but we also like to explore, the location of Nerja provides a perfect base for touring Andalucia and discovering the 'real Spain'. We enjoy walking/rambling and the trails up into the hillside from the villa are limitless. We have compiled a book of walks of varying lengths and this is to be found in the villa.
