The apartment is situated on the outskirts of the village of Algorfa, about 10 minutes drive inland from the coastal town of Guardamar del Segura, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. This typical Spanish village is perfect to escape summertime crowds and traffic jams of the traditional beach resorts, and whilst there are English cafés and a supermarket, Algorfa still retains its very Spanish charm with typical local bars and cuisine. La Casa Naranja is part of Residencial Fontana II, a private gated community of 140 apartments with a good mixture of resident owners and holiday apartments. Unlike in many traditional tourist “tower blocks”, there is a genuine friendly atmosphere in this complex with people of various nationalities and age groups. The pretty complex is very well kept by the community of owners with colourful flowers, fountains and lighting.

| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 benefits from a king-size bed – not the usual 135cm Spanish “double” – with a quality mattress for your comfort. Bedroom 2 has two single beds that can be pushed together easily if required. Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes. |
| Bathrooms: | The fully tiled bathroom has bath and shower, washbasin, toilet and bidet as well as plenty of storage in a cupboard underneath the washbasin. |
| Kitchen: | The American style kitchen is fully equipped with fridge-freezer, oven and hob, microwave and washing machine as well as toaster, kettle and coffee maker. Crockery and glassware, cutlery, cooking utensils and pots and pans are provided for six people. |
| Utility Room: | An ironing board and iron can be found in the utility room together with clothes horse and pegs. Some basic childrens toys, beach mats and beach sandals can also be found here. |
| Living Rooms: | The living area has a comfortable sofa-bed and a large cupboard with space of all your bits and pieces. Apart from the TV we also provide a wide selection of tourist brochures and maps accompanied by our bespoke information pack. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Sufficent towels and linen for each visitor is provided. Cleaning is done when you leave, however, interim cleans can be arranged for a charge. |
Accessibility
Being on the ground floor the apartment is easily accessible for wheelchair users and children’s buggies, with no need to negotiate flights of stairs or unreliable lifts. Situated opposite to the pool ensures easy access to a cool dip and gives you the option of keeping an eye on the kids whilst having a drink on the terrace.
Outside
The 15 square metre terrace (150 square feet) faces eastwards making it perfect for a breakfast in the morning sun overlooking the communal pool. The sun dips behind the building from 12.00 noon keeping both the terrace and the flat shady during the hottest part of the day – just right to cool down after a long d ay at the beach. The terrace has ample space for a barbeque and glass of local red wine with some new friends, and being on the ground floor plenty of room for kids to run around safely. Wooden garden furniture is provided to allow al fresco dining or a lazy afternoon read.
The communal solarium on the roof of the block has fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding orange groves and benefits from direct sun all day - perfect to work on that tan.
Coast/Beach
La Casa Naranja is only 15 mins drive from the beaches of the Mediterranean. Guardamar del Segura has 7kms of fabulous beaches with bars and restaurants along the promenade, sand dunes and a pine forest. Sun loungers and umbrellas can be hired for a relaxing day at the sea. Guardamar also has a pretty and lively town centre offering shopping and a meandering street market on Wednesdays. The town park has a large lake and wildlife including turtles, ducks and peacocks as well as a children’s park
Golf
La Finca golf club, one of the newest in Alicante and a potential host for the Spanish Open in the near future, is only five minutes down the road.
The club offers a great variety of greens ranging from very small to very large, including a reserve hole to enable players to complete a full round in case any of the normal 18 holes has to be closed off. Lakes lend difficulty to the golfing, create beautiful scenery and provide an ideal habitat for water birds such as ducks and cattle egrets. Olive and palm trees complete La Finca’s Mediterranean feel. Restaurants and bars are open to golfers and visitors alike - even for the non-golfer a cool drink or something to eat overlooking the course makes La Finca well worth the visit.
There are five other Championship courses within a 15 minute drive and the world famous La Manga Club is only one hour away.

Carp, bass, trout and barbel fishing can be experienced in the reservoirs and rivers nearby. Or try any of the fabulous beaches for excellent fishing for bass, dorado and more.

Travel
Situated in the heart of the Costa Blanca, and approximately 30 minutes from both Alicante and Murcia/San Javier airports. Car hire is recommended, however airport pickups can be arranged.
Distances
Situated on the edge of Algorfa village, the apartment is simply minutes from the village centre. The village has shops including a small supermarket and bakeries, banks and a pharmacy, and Sunday morning brings a typical market to the outskirts of the village. Algorfa's restaurants, cafes and bars stay open till late in the night and serve good Spanish food as well as a choice of tapas dishes.
Further details
Just beside the complex “Residential Fontana II” is a municipal area with childrens’ play ground and sports facilities including a 25 metre swimming pool (Euro 1,20 per day), football pitch, tennis and basketball courts.
There is a small neo-gothic church located just outside the village, which was built at the beginning of the nineteenth century and is worth visiting.
