Other: There is a selection of books and games and detailed guide to the local area detailing beaches, favoured restaurants, shopping available etc.

Quality bed linen, bathroom and beach towels provided. End of stay cleaning included, mid stay cleaning and linen available by arrangement (at additional cost).

 

Notes on accommodation
The villa is fully air conditioned with a modern heat pump system giving central heating for early / late holidays and air conditioning for the Summer. The villa also has an ADSL Broadband Internet connection through a wireless router for guests who need connectivity while away and who bring a laptop for that purpose.

Access to the villa is from a private drive, enclosed by a substantial gate, leading to the integral garage and the upper floor with stairs to the lower floor living area. We have a local agent who will welcome you to the villa and assist with any problems and is happy to offer advice regarding the local area. He can also provide an initial grocery basket on request - payable locally. In the interests of all guests 'No Smoking' is preferred in the villa.

Outside
There is a shared pool (10m x 5m) set in meticulously maintained lawned gardens. Private lawned garden enclosed by hedge, raised covered patio off the dining area with a large table and chairs. Sun loungers and a barbecue are provided.

Coast/Beach
The beach at Playa de Pals is more than 6 miles in length and is the second longest sandy beach on the Costa Brava. A quiet spot can therefore always be had. It is just 1 km away and an easy walk, but there are many access points with adequate parking for those carrying extensive beach equipment. Quieter sections of this beach and a number of the coves to the south are given over to naturism. The coves of Aigua Freda, Sa Tuna and Aigua Blava are not to be missed.

Golf
The area is excellent for golf, with the Golf Course of Playa de Pals just 1km away. This is one of the most beautiful and prestigious golf courses in Spain. There are several courses within 20-30 minutes. Emporda Golf resort, with 36 holes and a swimming pool for non-golfers, Serres de Pals with terrace bar and restaurant. Golf Costa Brava at Santa Christina D’Aro (30 mins) has dramatic views and is testing in golf and physical terms with many climbs and descents. The best course, though a little further afield is the PGA Golf Club de Catalunya, a championship course but worth the trip. Located on the N11 between Girona and Barcelona at Caldes de Malavella (45 mins). We can also arrange tuition / guiding with a local UK PGA professional if required. The Internet connection provides an often essential link with home and office while away for a short golfing holiday.

Skiing
The resorts of the Pyrenees are a two hour drive away with Vallter 2000, La Molina and Vall de Nuria the closest resorts.

Special interest holidays
There is an English run PADI approved scuba diving school in Masos de Pals who run the full range of diving courses from beginners half days to open water and divemaster. The tennis club is 300 metres away with court and racquet hire available. Wind surfing, sailing and Kite boarding are all available on the beach at Playa de Pals. Cycles can be hired locally and there is extensive coastal and inland hill walking available.

Travel
Girona airport is 50 minutes away and a major “Hub” for Ryanair and other airlines with frequent flights from all over Europe. Barcelona and Perpignan airports (1.5hrs - 90km). Flaca (30 mins - 20km) for RENFE mainline railway services. Car hire essential - recommended hire companies available on request.

Distances
Closest supermarket, bar, hot food take away and pizzeria 300 metres. The hamlet of Playa de Pals is 1 km away with restaurants and bars running down to the beach. Pals is a delightful medieval village just 5 km inland which has been carefully restored to reflect it’s position as one of the prominent fortified villages in the Baix de Emporda and has many restaurants. There is good shopping in the nearby town of Palafrugell with a vibrant Sunday and daily food markets.

Further details
The hilltop village of Begur is not to be missed with it’s beautiful square and many restaurants. The beautiful Gothic city of Girona is only a 40 minute drive with and the famous Salvador Dali museum of Figueres is also only 40km away. A day trip to Barcelona can also easily be planned using the excellent railway service from nearby Flaca which delivers you directly to the Placa de Catalunya in the Centre of Barcelona.

Booking notes
Booking will be confirmed on receipt of an initial deposit of 25%. This is non-refundable if the booking is cancelled. The balance is due 8 weeks before commencement. A breakages deposit of €300 is also required with the final balance. This will be refunded once the villa has been checked after your departure. If a booking is made within 8 weeks of the commencement date the full payment will be due immediately.

Guest comments
We found the villa to be of a great standard even for three mums with children under the age of four stuck indoors for a couple of days! The house manager, Peter was of great help and was very friendly, prompt and had a wonderful knowledge base of the area which proved to be invaluable. You were easy to deal with and very flexible and accommodating - we had odd winter dates and hours etc. The house was presented really well; clean; tidy and had all the amenities one could need etc. We would def recommend you to friends and family in the future. The villa complex of 6 or so well maintained houses was beautiful, clean and the villa spotless with all mod cons. The pool area was lovely and well kept by gardeners. Midweek in July was ideal as all other villas are owned by Barcelona weekenders, so we had the whole pool area to ourselves midweek. Lovely area, very picturesque, rugged coastline with pretty coves. Completely unspoillt and no sign of tourist invasion.
