Every room enjoys open sea views. Comfortable, light, spacious and very well equipped! Outside, there are plenty of terraces, open and with sun awnings, 6 sun loungers, patio furniture and a gas BBQ. Equipment includes satellite TV, DVD player, PC with wifi broadband connection, table tennis for kids in separate games room. Quietly situated in a cul-de-sac on the established residential hillside above the village of Salobreña, beaches, bars and restaurants are only 5 minutes away. The heart of the unspoilt Costa Tropical de Granada where it is both cooler in mid summer and warmer in winter than the overcrowded Costa del Sol. Ideal for a sun and snow mixed activity winter holiday with the Sierra Nevada ski resort just 55 mins away. Keen skiers can be up on the slopes whilst others relax on the sunbeds!

Notes on prices
The prices include pool heating from April to October inclusive and we guarantee that the pool will be around 27/28ºC ie warm enough for comfortable swimming. Unheated pools in Southern Spain in April, May & even June will be rather cooler! Even in mid winter the solar heating keeps the pool much warmer than an unheated pool & it can be kept as warm as required with our economical supplementary pool heater. Note: From November to March (inclusive) electricity will be charged at cost. (€0.21/Kw)
Changeover day
Fridays preferred with access from 2.00pm (4.00pm during summer holiday period) and departure at 10.00am.

Notes on accommodation
Further equipment provided includes air conditioning to living room and all 3 bedrooms, water softener, portable CD player, PC with wi fi ADSL internet connection, Jotul wood burning stove and the air-con units also provide economical warm air heating in winter. During the lowest rate winter period fresh linen is not provided each week but a washing machine, tumble dryer and iron are! The owners have lived in the area for over 20 years and provide much local information. Non-smokers only. Sorry, no pets.
Accessibility
The accommodation is quite suitable if some in the party cannot easily negotiate many steps as one of the bedrooms (with en-suite) is at the same level as the on site car parking and main living accommodation.
Outside
Heated swimming pool, superior gas barbecue, sun loungers on pool terrace, outdoor dining table and chairs on dining terrace with pull out sun awning (a few steps above pool), two other terraces, one with electric sun awning. *The swimming pool has an excellent solar heating system with thermal cover and from April to October is guaranteed to be at least 27ºC/80ºF without additional cost. Even in mid winter it will usually be warm enough for swimming just from the solar heating (around 21ºC/70ºF) and can also be heated further with an energy efficient heat pump at an additional cost.
Coast/Beach
5 minutes to Salobrena beach with many beach restaurants. Watersport rentals also available in the summer holidays.
Golf
Los Moriscos golf course is just 10 minutes away at Playa Granada, Motril and there are three other golf courses within 45 minutes drive at Granada, Almerimar & Velez Malaga
Skiing
Although on the Costa Tropical with mainland Europe's warmest winters, snow skiing is close at hand in Spain's highest mountains, the nearby Sierra Nevada ski resort nr Granada, where the season runs from the beginning of December until the end of April. There are a lot of good quality intermediate slopes and lessons available for all levels. Many snow machines guarantee good conditions most of the season. Just Google "sierra Nevada ski Spain" for more info. Ideal for winter holidays for a mixed party where the keen skiers have their fun on the slopes and the less energetic can enjoy lazing on the sunbeds!
Travel
60 minutes from Granada airport and 75 minutes from Malaga Airport. Car hire essential. See owners website for reccomendations.
Distances
5 mins to excellent local supermarkets and choice of many good restaurants in Salobreña. 15 mins to big hypermarket in Motril, 45 mins to Granada (Alhambra), 45 mins to big out of town shopping centre (Velez Malaga).

Walking distance to community recreation area including tennis (rackets provided), football, large pool and toddler pool and playground. Golf, horse riding and a wide range of water-sports nearby, local walks from the villa and more close by. Perfect for that mixed activity winter holiday.

About the owner
Margaret and Mike Lingwood moved to Salobrena from the UK with 3 young children in 1988 and have lived in Casa Miranda in the favoured Monte de los Almendros residential area since 1990. The photo shows us sitting on our window seat at home with Salobrena castle and the sea in the background. We chose Salobrena after looking for our new home all along the south coast of Spain in 1986. It was the only place we liked then and we plan to stay here! As well as our home we have two other villas on Monte de los Almendros that we rent out all year round, Las Vistas (S577) and Las Torres (S10780). We like the outdoor life and enjoy walking and cycling in the countryside around Salobrena and in the winter skiing in the Sierra Nevada.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We looked all over the south coast of Spain in 1986 and even then found most places too developed for our tastes. Salobrena was a refreshing change then and still is now, truly Spanish, better climate, (cooler in summer and warmer in winter), close to the skiing and Granada and nowadays even easy to get to!
Unique benefits of the property
We finished building "Las Vistas" in 2003 and it has been a very popular holiday rental villa ever since. Many of our guests have commented on the excellent privacy around the pool terrace and that the second living room downstairs enables children to enjoy themselves without disturbing their parents. The views from every room are fabulous, even including when lying in the bath and the heated pool is a real hit with kids. Wifi internet access is an essential for some of our guests.
