Our villa has equal sized accommodation arranged over 2 entirely self contained levels. Both levels of equal quality. Rent one level or both. You only pay for the level you are using but get the entire villa and pool to yourself - we will not let the unoccupied level during your stay. If you're a couple or small family rent one level. If you're 2 couples with or without children then rent both. Larger families or taking your parents away? Larger groups of friends? This could be ideal! The villa is well maintained, sits low on a mountainside with breathtaking views. Enclosed with gated entry/private parking, swimming pool, air con, extensive terracing, outside shower, sun loungers, barbecue, tables and chairs, parasols for al fresco dining. Located between Alicante and Valencia airports. The market town of Pego is a 5 min drive. Adsubia is a 15 mins walk (for a couple of local restaurants, tapas bars, bakery, butcher, bank). Beaches are 10-15 mins drive. Golf courses are nearby.

Changeover day
Arrival/Changeover day is usually Saturday but we are most willing to be flexible as we realise flights are more expensive at the weekend (typically arrive from 4pm/depart by 10am). Adding a day or so either side of your stay may also be possible.
Notes on accommodation
The property will be cleaned throughout ready for your arrival. Keys are available from 4pm on arrival day (or earlier by prior arrangement, if there are no departing guests that same day this is usually possible). Electricity, gas bottles for cooking and barbecue, air conditioning (upper & lower level), pool maintenance, bed linen provided. Weekly linen change. The villa is completely self contained with a lockable gate. All the rooms have fans for the summer months. There is a hot/cold air conditioning unit in the upper and lower levels and fans/ceiling fan in the bedrooms. For winter months you may prefer to occupy the upper level accommodation where there's also a fan assisted log burning stove. Logs available locally. Oil radiator heaters in all bedrooms on both levels. There is a fair to good mobile phone reception at the property. There is a car port for your car.
Accessibility
One flight of steps from car port onto the pool terrace which is level with the upper accommodation. There are no stairs inside the house. However, a further two flights of stairs onto the lower level accommodation and the grand terrace. Their are three steps down to the outside shower area by the pool.
Outside
The villa has spacious terracing and a private kidney shaped 8 x 4 pool with roman steps. There is a freestanding gas barbecue, sun-loungers, parasols and three sets of tables and chairs for alfresco dining. There is also an outside shower fed from mountain water. All the terraces have mood lighting with outdoor 'touch' controls. There is also sensor 'approach' lighting. There is a small garden area and lovely views from the terraces across the mountain range with glimpses of the church spire in the village of Adsubia a twenty minute walk away.
Coast/Beach
The villa is located an approximate 10/15 minute drive from the local blue flag beaches at Devises & Oliva. Oliva has a good selection of restaurants and a great ice cream parlour. Denia is approximately 20 minutes drive. The beach and port at Javea is approximately 30 minutes away and great for an evening out strolling. There are some great bars and restaurants. Benidorm is a 45 minute drive. There are some lovely drives through the mountains. The pretty village of Forna is 4 kilometres away.
Golf
Severiano Ballesteros designed the 18 hole Links course at Oliva Nova golf and Spa resort a 15 minute drive away. Jose Maria Olazabal designed the 18 hole golf course at La Sella surrounded by mountains and a 30 minute drive away. The Real de Faula course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and is a 45 minute drive.
Travel
The villa is located equal driving distances from Alicante or Valencia airports approximately 1 hr 15 minute drive from either. Both airports are served by budget airlines including Ryanair, Easyjet and Monarch. Car Hire is essential. Interested in driving from the UK? We do it all the time and can supply detailed directions. Allow for one or two en-route hotel stopovers. Alternatively, you can take the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao and drive across Spain; an approximate 9 hour drive.
Distances
Adsubia is a 15/20 minute walk and has a couple of restaurants, tapas bar, a butcher, baker and a bank. There is also a large community swimming pool in Adsubia which doubles as a restaurant during the evenings. The market town of Pego is 3 kilometres or 5 minutes in the car. Oliva is 15 minutes by car where Friday is market day. Denia is a 20 minute drive. Drive to the beach at Devises in 15 minutes. Visit Benidorm, Terra Mitica, Terra Natura and the waterfalls just inland in 45 minutes.
Further details
The area is good for walking and cycling. The villa is quietly located and surrounded by mountains and valleys and only 10/15 minutes inland from the sea. There's are some great local flee markets at weekends and some fantastic drives and tours locally. There is a folder in the villa with leaflets and details of places of interest nearby. There are some great markets - Pego on Thursday and Oliva on Friday are particularly good. The villa is ideal for couples and families as it is arranged on two entirely self contained floors. If you're a couple with or without children then you can rent one level and you won't be paying for space you are not occupying. (The remaining level will, of course, remain unoccupied) If you're a larger group (perhaps two couples with children or holidaying with your parents) you can rent both levels, maintain your independence, and split the cost between you! We accept separate payments from each couple if required. The village of Adsubia is two minutes away by car or a 15 minute walk. There's a butcher, baker, bank, couple of bars/restaurants and a community swimming pool. Pego is five minutes by car (3 Kilometres) away. If your party consists of more than 8 then we can accommodate you (an extra two persons - adults only) in a studio apartment 50 metres away - you will have your own kitchenette/bathroom/bedroom/sitting area and join your holiday party by the pool all for an additional payment of only £50 per night.
Booking notes
A deposit of 25% of the price of your holiday is required upon booking. Balance due 10 weeks prior to the commencement of your stay or monthly by standing order. A refundable breakages deposit of £100 (per level) is required; returnable 7 days after your holiday completes.
Parties of up to 4 persons (plus cot) can rent one level of the villa. Larger party sizes need to rent the entire villa. Comfortably seelps 8 plus cot but sofa bed could provide extra sleeping by prior arrangement.

Costa Blanca? I supposed it would be sunny but full of hotels. Can't believe the situation here! I love mountains and wildlife. Short toed eagles (and Golden) circling the mountain opposite. We are always open to a swap in Greece, Athens, Crete, Mainland or Islands. (one of us speaks Greek). A Non simultaneous exchange is also possible. We will consider all destinations though, so go on, surprise us! Not during school holidays.

About the owner
We are Carrie (a Clinical Psychologist) and Amy (an Optometrist) good friends for many years who live and work in Norwich (UK). We purchased the villa as a joint venture to use as a second home for ourselves and respective families in 2005 and were keen to purchase this particular villa as it gave us the scope to refurbish it into two entirely self contained levels of accommodation. One each! If we had realised quite the scale of work involved at the time we might have thought twice but the end result of all our hard work has, we feel, paid off. We have often thought there should have been a Sarah Beeney episode dedicated to our efforts and wonder if two women alone have ever taken on such a task in Spain before. We could write a book!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The villa is equal driving distance from either Alicante or Valencia airport and both are served by budget airlines (notably Ryanair and Easyjet) with an easy drive along the A7 to the villa from either. We felt this area known as the Orange Blossom coast was beautiful and had a typically spannish feel about it. Miles and miles of sandy beaches, sleepy villages, great tappas bars, fantastic markets, fresh fish and vegetables, shoes, shoes and more shoes! Denia, Javier, Moraira all close by. Terra Mitica and Terra Natura theme Parks only a 45 minute drive. So many things to see and do locally. Over 300 days a year of sunshine with the World Health Organisation giving it the thumbs up for one of the best places to live. We thought, quite simply, this is it!
Unique benefits of the property
With two levels to the villa it's simply a great place to holiday together but separately. We made sure neither one of us were compromised in terms of space or facilitie Both levels have a full kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms and lounge. We have fantastically large terraces and a floodlit pool and being at the end of a cul de sac within a community of only eleven villas means there is no passing villa traffic. We always feel safe here. There are some fantastic views across the mountains and short toed eagles circle above which is so exciting. The night skies here are unbelievable. Holidaymakers comprising 'two families holidaying together' or families holidaying with parents all have given us great feedback in terms of villa layout.
