Lomas de Islantilla is on the Costa de la Luz near to the border with Portugal. The beach, Islantilla Golf Club and a good selection of shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. The garden has lovely views and a patio and BBQ for alfresco dining. For the energetic there are paddle tennis courts on site (racquets provided), water sports at the beach and golf at the nearby Islantilla Golf Club. The large swimming pool is located conveniently close to the house and is open from mid June to mid September. There is a children's play area on site just a couple of minutes walk away.

Changeover day
We offer flexible changeover days. Check in is after 2pm, checkout by 10am although can be flexible.

Notes on accommodation
The house is within an attractive gated complex near to the beach but in a peaceful area. The south facing garden is great to eat or relax and has a lovely patio with sunloungers, table and chairs, BBQ and lavender and hibiscus in the borders. This is a great house for beach or golf lovers, groups, couples or families. We are particularly family friendly and offer an extensive range of toys, beach equipment, cots and lots more.
Outside
Sun loungers, table and chairs in the garden and table and chairs to the front of the house. Beach chairs and beach parasols are provided and an excellent range of children's toys, buckets and spades, paddling pool and games. We also provide 2 cots, stair gates, booster seats for meals and much more. The complex has a larger than average pool with lifeguard. In the summer months the area benefits from a gentle breeze.
Coast/Beach
The Costa de la Luz is renowned for its unspoilt coastline and sandy beaches which stretch for miles along the coast and are backed by dunes and beach restaurants. La Antilla and Islantilla beach both have a good selection of restaurants, bars, shops and cafes. Numerous other beaches are within 10 minutes drive.
Golf
Islantilla Golf Club and Golf Resort Hotel are 10 mins walk away. The 27 hole course is beautifully laid out amongst pine trees with views across the resort, countryside and sea. Islantilla hosts numerous professional tournaments and has extensive facilities including golf shop, driving range, club and buggy hire and lessons from the resident golf pro. For further information on green fees etc please contact. Within half an hours drive are the following championship standard golf courses; El Rompido, Castro Marim (Algarve), Nuevo Portil, Isla Canela and Bellavista.
Travel
Faro is the nearest airport, just under 1 hour drive along good dual carriageway; Seville, an hour and a half by car, is an alternative and a good way to combine your trip with a city break. Go to the Flight mapping site to find out who flies to Faro. Transfers can be arranged although we would recommend car hire and can provide details of a reliable and reasonably priced car hire company at Faro.

By car: El Terron 5 minutes. Lepe 10 minutes. Isla Cristina 15 minutes. Aquopolis Water Park 30 minutes. Portuguese Algarve 30 mins. Huelva, capital of the province, 40 mins. Faro Airport 1 hour. Seville centre, 1 hour 15 mins. Seville Airport 1.5 hours.
Further details
There are lots of opportunities for sightseeing and culture in the area including the local town of Lepe with it's annual Romeria in the spring. Visit nearby El Terron for seafood and boat trips or Isla Cristina for it's beaches, squares and sunsets. The fishing village of El Rompido is a must for lunch or dinner right on the beach front. Ayamonte, the scenic border town, is 20 mins drive away and from here you can take a 10 min boat ride across the river to Villa Real in Portugal. Visit Seville for Semana Santa or the April Horse Fair to see Andalucian tradition in it's full glory or visit anytime for flamenco, tapas and sightseeing. It's easy to visit for a day trip and best in the Spring or Autumn when the weather is cooler. El Rocio, Coto Donana National Park, the Aracena Caves or crossing the border to Portugal's Algarve area also make great trips. Further afield are visits to Cadiz, Jerez, Cordoba and Granada.

We had a lovely holiday, on our first full day we felt quite at home, as if we had been there for days, it was just so peaceful only the noise of the birds in the pine trees. The house was well kitted out with everything we needed, we would definitely stay there again. David and Pauline July 2010.
An excellent house to stay in if you have young children. Everything you would need has been provided from cots and booster seats to a paddling pool and bucket and spade. Super convenient for the beach and local restaurants. We had a great time! Sue from London.
We found the house comfortable and convenient. Beds and bathroom were excellent with linen and towels provided, There is a lovely, well furnished patio at the rear which overlooks the golf course with pine trees offering shade and birdsong. Very good if you have small children as travel cots, stair gates, booster chairs and lots of toys are provided in duplicate. Our twin grandsons had a wonderful time! Mags, Oct 2009.

We love the underdeveloped coastline in ths area, in particular the beaches and walking trails through the pines and dunes that back the beaches. The area has retained a strong Andalucian culture with lots of local festivals and great food and drink. The weather is great!
Unique benefits of the property
Our guests have commented that they love the area, the beaches and food and in particular the garden which is a great place to sit and enjoy the views and relax. The way of life in Southern Spain is very relaxed and children are welcome in restaurants day or night.
