Private swimming pool

Front terrace

Tastefully restored, stone finca set in its own olive grove with no neighbours in the vicinity. A totally private 11m x 5m pool with Roman steps overlooks the olive groves and lakeside. On the terraces there is a patio table on each, chairs, parasol and sun loungers, as well as a barbecue in short, everything you need for serious tanning, siesta-ing and relaxing. The 3,500 sq.m acre garden is full of fruit trees, nuts and plants indigenous to the area. Local shops, bars and restaurants are 2km away. The town of Iznajar is about 7km away. There are many opportunities for outdoor activities such as walking and mountain biking nearby. Boule/petanque, bycycles and darts/dart board are just some of the activities provided for guests' use.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
All bookings include normal usage of gas, electricity, water and, in the winter, logs for the woodburner.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday although out of season this is more flexible.

Outside
The very private swimming pool is 11m x 5m with Roman steps for access. This is for the sole use of guests and no other personnel are on the site. On the terraces there is a patio table on each, chairs, parasol and sun loungers, as well as a barbecue in short, everything you need for serious tanning, siesta-ing and relaxing. There is also a private boule/petanque court next to the rear terrace for guests' use. A steel boule set is provided. Bycycles are available at the house. The 3,500 sq.m. acre garden is full of fruit trees, nuts and plants indigenous to the area.

Coast/Beach
Valdearenas Beach. There is a beach on the lake where you can swim, rent pedaloes and canoes, and learn to sail (and possibly other watersports). It tends to be busier on Sundays but is very quiet during the week, even in the height of the season. The water is beautiful to swim in, the bathing is safe and the beach has sand to lie on or for children to play in.

Golf
The world famous golf courses of the Costa del Sol are only an hour away and those of the Costa del Golf, including Valderrama, Sotogrande and San Roque, are about 1½ hours away.
The nearest course to the house is the new course at Antequera which is now fully open. All 18 holes are challenging with plenty of water, narrow fairways, olive trees lining the first cut and subtle borrows on the greens. There are many interesting holes, a few spectacular ones and the views around the course are wonderful.
There is also a members club at Granada (bottom right picture above), set under a fabulous backdrop of the snow covered Sierra Nevada, which allows visitors to play during the week. Both Antequera and Granada green fees are considerably lower than on the coast and the courses are better than most public courses on the Costa.

Skiing
The ski resort of Sol y Nieve is located in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is the most southerly ski resort in Europe and is small in comparison with other European resorts. It has numerous runs, of varying difficulties, to satisfy all skiing desires. Natural snow is supplemented by snow cannons on some runs. Being so far south, many skiers are pleasantly surprised to find the air temperature is usually warmer than other resorts.
The Sierra Nevada resort is only 45 minutes drive from Granada city, so about 1½ hours from the house.

Special interest holidays
Mountain biking and cycling are viewed as both serious sports and a relaxing pastime in Andalucía. It is not unusual to be overtaken by a group of lycra-clad cyclists tackling the steep mountain roads, particularly at weekends.
Not surprisingly, in a country with so many hills, mountain biking is a popular sport and better quality bikes can be rented in many mountain resorts. Bike hire, including helmet, gloves etc. is available within a few minutes drive of the house.
The countryside in much of Andalucía is breathtaking and one of the best ways to appreciate the diversity and beauty of the natural scenery is on foot. Iznajar is on the edge of the Parque Natural de las Sierras Subbéticas providing enormous scope for interesting walks. Guided hikes (or, for the more energetic, guided trail runs) are offered by a local company.

Travel
Both Malaga airport and Granada airport are about 45 mins away. Granada is much less busy than Malaga. Car hire is essential and both airports have many rental companies on site.

Distances
Local shops, bars and restaurants are 2Km away. The town of Iznajar is about 7Km away and the villages of Villanueva de Tapia and Fuente del Conde are also about 7Km away.
The Alhambra Palace at Granada is less and hour from the house, the Mosque at Cordoba is a little over an hour away and the wonderful city of Seville is about 1½ hours away.
