Outside
Doors open from lounge and bedroom to front terrace having outside furniture and views. Solarium - This large outside area is the main feature of the property allowing outstanding views to sea and mountains, an opportunity to enjoy the sun all day long. There is a communal swimming pool for sole use of guests along with a smaller pool for infants. The beach at Cala Marques is approximately 150m away.
Coast/Beach
Approximately 150m to the 5km long beach. There are further beaches to explore to include the famous Mojacar Playa which offers sailing, windsurfing, water skiing and canoeing.
Golf
Golf is available at the famous Desert Springs golf complex - the only desert golf course in Europe, approximately 15 minutes drive away. Valle del Este with its demanding course and panoramic views is approximately 15-20 minutes drive away. There are further golf complexes to include Cortijo Grande on the far side of Turre - approximately 20 minutes drive away and Marina del Torre approximately 15 minutes drive away.
Travel
The local airport, Almeria is approxy 45 mins by car/coach away from the apartment. Murcia Airport is approx 1.5 hours by car away from the airport. Alicante airport is approximately 2.25 hours away. Car hire is recommended in order to explore this beautiful part of Spain.
Distances
In the local vacinity there are several bars, restaurants and a supermarket all within walking distance. The ancient Moorish village of Mojacar with its intriguing cobbled alleyways, shops, tapas bars and restaurants make it a must visit - approximately 20 market and splendid promenade is approximately 10 mins drive away. An Aquapark with slides and pools is approxi 5 mins drive away.
Further details
There are plenty of things to do locally or by venturing further out. For those who wish to stay close to home there is a variety of bars and restaurants within a 5 min. walk (approximately), the restaurants range from traditional Spanish to an informal Pizzeria. The bars range from a sports bar featuring snooker and pool table to a traditional Spanish bar. There is also a small supermarket nestled between the restaurants and bars. For those who want a larger supermarket there is one approx 5 mins. drive away. The apartment is a short drive to Peurto Rey Sports complex (approx. 5 minutes) having tennis, two tier golf driving range, gym and other activities. For those who wish to venture further abroad, Garrucha with its promenade, harbour and excellent fish restuarants is approx 10 mins away by car, if you are willing to drive a further 10 mins you will reach Mojacar Playa with its variety of bars and restaurants. You can visit Mini Hollywood or Yucca City for cowboy shoot out and Can-Can dancing! Also there is the wildlife park with its many species of animals for the whole family to enjoy. Or why not visit the Sierra Nevada mountains which boast spectacular views and the village of Guadix where locals still live in caves. And don't forget Granada where the famous Alhmabra Palace and Generalife Gardens, which are known as the 8th wonder of the world.
The coastlines are greatly privileged areas as they are bathed in the wonderful Mediterranean sea and sunshine. A wonderful climate without extremes is guaranteed. Almeria enjoys a warm and dry Mediterranean climate, with little rain and a large number of hours of sun per year (more than 3,000 hours). The temperatures throughout the year are mild, reaching an average of 13°C in winter, and more than an average of 25°C in summer.
There are shops, bars and restaurants to suite all tastes, from traditional Spanish food to Chinese and Indian. Golf, horse-riding and an aqua park are all available locally.
