Cortijo la Pedriza is a rustic farmhouse, lovingly restored and with all its original features. Reached by an ancient olive growers' track, lined with almond trees and olive groves with spectacular views across a range of distant mountains and lakes. Cortijo la Pedriza is a great place to unwind. Peaceful, with sounds of birdsong, goat bells, cicadas and bullfrogs from the nearby river and views of villagers harvesting their latest crop of olives. The cortijo has thick stone white washed walls, exposed beams and open fireplaces. This tranquil setting is 10 minutes from the local village of Fuente del Conde which has a restaurant/bar and supermarket. Cortijo la Pedriza is within easy access of the historic towns of Iznájar, Antequerra and Archidona. Moorish cities, such as Granada and Córdoba, are within an hour's drive and Granada airport is a 35 minute drive, or alternatively Malaga is a 50 minute journey.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. If we let House 1 on its own, we will keep house 2 vacant so that guests can enjoy exclusive use of the property and pool. House 2 will only be let together with House 1 except in the winter months (Nov to Mar). It is available to rent alone then. We may be able to offer a discount for partial occupancy of House 2. Please contact us for details.

Changeover day
Our preferred changeover day is Saturday, but we do try to be flexible depending on bookings. On arrival, you will be met by an English speaking manager, who will be on call throughout your stay should you have any problems.

Outside
The houses have 2 large patio areas. Both areas have spaces shaded with grape vines and jasmine. A third patio is covered by a terracotta roof. The 2 main patios each have a BBQ and outdoor furniture, including sunloungers. There is an 8x4m swimming pool. Guests may help themselves to produce from the orchard, herb and vegetable gardens.

Coast/Beach
The property is a 50 min drive to Pedregalejo beach in Malaga which has numerous seafood restaurants. Guests can also take a 10 min drive to Valdearenas beach on the shore of Lake Iznajar.

Travel
The property is a 35 min drive from Granada airport and 50 mins from the airport in Malaga. Care hire is recommended.

Distances
The property is 10 mins from the village of Fuente del Conde which has a supermarket and bar which serves good tapas and local food. The nearest town is Iznajar a Pueblo Blanco with an impressive church and 8th century Moorish castle. Granada is a 45 min drive and Cordoba is 60 mins.

Further details
A variety of short and long walks can be taken from the house, following old drover’s tracks, along the lakeside, or the valleys and hilltops in the surrounding countryside. Many of these tracks take you to small outlying villages where you can sample the local tapas and beers. A 30 min walk from the Cortijo through olive groves and a riverside track leads you to the lake, from where you can see many local birds such as kingfishers, hoopoes, bee-eaters, azure-winged magpies, swallows and cuckoos.
