2 bedroom villa on the Polaris World Mar Menor Resort 5 minutes from the sea and with private heated swimming pool. Air-conditioning in all bedrooms and the living room which also has Sky TV, IPod docking station, XBOX 360, PlayStation 2, DVD player and travel cot. 18 hole golf course on the resort and other Golf courses nearby and we offer free use of golf clubs. Tennis racquet's, games and books may also be borrowed.

Notes on accommodation
Air conditioning downstairs and in both bedrooms. Central heating. Suitable for children. But must be supervised round the swimming pool. Travel cot supplied free of charge.
Outside
Private heated swimming pool size 7.5 x 3.5m (max), in a pleasant garden with sunbeds, terrace with table and 6 chairs. Balcony with 3 and 2 seater couches. Barbecue. Private off road parking.
Coast/Beach
Glorious beaches of the Mar Menor, Costa Calida (known as the warm coast), are just 5km away by car. Overlooking the La Manga strip.
Golf
The property is on an 18 hole championship golf course, handicap certificate may be required. I have played most courses locally (within 45 minutes) and can supply details upon request.

My partner will give plenty of advice on shopping if that is a special interest holiday!
Travel
The resort is just 12 mins from Murcia (San Javier) airport, or Alicante 55 mins. Flights can be booked through many airlines, Jet2, Easyjet, Ryanair, Bmibaby, to name a few. Car is recommended. Approximately 18 euros by taxi from the airport to the villa.
Distances
Torre Pacheco 2km away, 3mins by car, Los Alcazares is 5km away, 6 mins by car. Murcia the historic capital is well worth a visit just 25 mins away by car. Cartagena 20km is a Roman city with a beautiful lively port with cafe bars and restaurants.
Further details
The resort has a bank, restaurants, bars including a Tapas bar and fine diner, Italian restaurant, Route 66 American diner, International menu restaurant, hotel restaurants, an Irish bar usually with weekend entertainment, supermarket, tennis. There are also lots of great restaurants close by with the best recommended by previous guests and various larger supermarkets, banks, near the resort. Also a large shopping centre in San Javier (Dos Mares) and a new one near Cartegena. Please note that facilities change all the time and are out of our control.
Booking notes
Refundable breakages deposit of £150 required to confirm the booking, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
The full balance must be paid a minimum of 6 weeks before your holiday. Cheques or bank transfer only.
€75 for the cleaning must be paid directly to the cleaners in Spain during your stay.

About the owner
I purchased the villa off plan in 2003 both as a holiday home and hopefully an investment as well. Recent drops in property values might not have helped the investment side, but we still love going to the villa around 3 times a year. Helen and myself enjoy the villa, the resort and the area, which is diverse and fits the needs of most people and families.
Our 2 boys find it easy to make friends on the resort and also enjoy the snorkeling, safe beaches, the variety of food and the markets. Which are very different from ours at home. Tom our eldest has joined the local swimming club and the locals really make us welcome.
I am a keen golfer and have played most of the local courses and the resort course includes an 18 hole Jack Nicklaus designed course from October 2009.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I have been lucky to travel quite a lot over the years but wanted to have a place I could relax in straight away. Work is stressful and spending 3 or 4 days finding my feet in new locations was spoiling the few days holiday I get a year. I have tried to keep that in mind when putting together what is on offer in the villa.
We are 5 minutes from the coastal resort of Los Alcazares. However, our resort offers everything you could want if you really want to chill out. So if we cant be bothered to go out we don't!
Although there are plenty of places you can go for English food and Irish bars, the area has a strong Spanish feel and tradition with plenty of purely Spanish eating and family atmosphere.
Unique benefits of the property
We have tried to include as much as is possible to make your stay complete. The heated pool is rare in a 2 bed villa and is also a salt pool rather than chlorine which reduces if not removes the unpleasant affects of sore eyes, green hair (if you dye it), ear ache etc.
Air-conditioning in both bedrooms are vital during the hot Summer nights.
We have also included golf clubs (left and right handed), tennis rackets, TV in both bedrooms, travel cot, play station, sun terrace with 2 couches. The terrace is seldom thought about by owners but we enjoy the shade and cool of the evening and wanted to take advantage of the breeze that blows through the resort, while drinking a glass or two of wine. We are always looking to add to what we offer and the couches are new in August 2009.
